Unfortunatly we live on the Isle of Wight we have tesco (the other side of the island), morrisons, sainsburys and M & S which are sort of close to where we live (not really alot of DFW choice) I did use to shop at Asda and I try and go to Lidl alot. Lets not start talking about the biscuit thing... He buys the bloody expensive bread aswell... and thick sliced. It really bugs me cos I'm just getting used to living on a budget and a tight one at that and now he moves over and is messing it all up He has only been here 2 weeks!!!! Its like the whole "we have no money" conversation we have about once a month where he doesn't seem to understand the situation.
Right... me stressing about this is not really productive (it does make me feel better thought) I'm off to find stuff to list on ebay our kittens have been ill and two of them have just costs us £105 and it looks like the third one may have the same thing.. great another £40.DFW Nerd No: 758  Proud to be dealing with my debts!:T Proud mum to Bon-Scott my amazing 10/10/10 baby0 -
Men are all the same lol! Took OH to Morrisons tommorow, we were gonna get a chicken for tea with some french bread, and a dvd and some Jacques Cider.... ended up spending £100, £45 on DVD's £20 on aftershve for him and £40 on food... dont ask me how! (shakes head).
I think im going to have to put a stop to him coming with me, its having disasterous effects to my pocket. Now got £62 until the 19th Oct, luckily im on a course with work for 2 weeks so am only going to have to buy him food, means 3x bags of chips, pack of mini pies, 2x chicken drummers and 2 xpasta meals, that will sort him out for 2 weeks mon-fri, just need some bread and ham to keep him going for lunch at work and some long life milk. Wont be too expensive. I think i have enough in for the next week, still got loads of meat in the freezer from last month. Oh the joys of food shopping on a budget.
Knowing what we do about your OH, I'm surprised he didn't nick it all.0 -

Can i be in your group ill write down my finances now ...Pollydaydream wrote: »Does anyone want to join me in a “Pay off/save £20,000(ish) by Xmas 2008” challenge (for me, otherwise known as the “stop faffing around” challenge).
I’m sitting here, on payday, with nothing done for Christmas and not enough money to get through the month, again. Luckily, I get paid early for January, but that means a) frenzied shopping a couple of days before Christmas  and b) being short of money again in January.
I’ve been faffing around for a whole year now. It’s taken that long for the reality to hit home. I’ve started challenges and lasted a couple of days (sometimes hours!). I’ve clicked for pennies and then gone and spent pounds. When I add up all the extra money that’s come my way this year, I’m horrified that I’m still in this position.
I think one of my problems is that I don’t post here very much. Although I do read everyday, I think I need to actually write it down and ‘put it out there’ for it to hit home. I don’t really want to start a diary, because I don’t want to bore you all with my inane (or, after the last year, probably insane) ramblings. No offence to anyone with a diary – I love reading them; I just know what rubbish is running through my mind, and you have burdens enough.
My amount for this year is in my signature – I actually have a huge loan as well, but that’s for next year. I know it’s a bit strange to be having a new year’s resolution now, but it would be lovely to be sitting here this time next year knowing we can relax a bit for December.
So, if you have a similar amount, or a similar timescale, or you just want to “stop faffing around”, it would be great if you could join me.

Welcome Karen
I've won £70 on bingo if it lets me withdraw it and i've got an extra £60 in my wages because of a tax rebate so that will pay for my car tax and some debt... although I might just stash it away from my OH so it doesn't get spent on biscuits... only joking... I think im going to put it aside for xmas presents.
Ive started on the overtime im aiming to do at least 5 hours a week so thats about £40 per week after tax. and thats without counting the overtime i can do at the week ends!!! Im starting to feel better about xmas already even though im not going to clear as much of my debts as i originally thought.DFW Nerd No: 758  Proud to be dealing with my debts!:T Proud mum to Bon-Scott my amazing 10/10/10 baby0 -
Even if people don't reach the full target, just think how much money we HAVE paid off - just by having that extra bit of focus!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I like the bit about a "nice holiday", the way things are going that may well be at Holloway, full board. Who else is she going to defraud? "I'll just forget to tell my new employer that I'm going to get the boot because I've been naughty yet again".
Here is a thought, can you be made bankrupt while you are in gaol? I expect the answer is "yes", but how do the creditors serve papers etc?0
