OK so the income was the student loan but surely other paying his uni costs he has bought things from gumtree, ebay - loaned money to a mate ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill1

So you have actually seen with your own eyes his bank statements for the last 12 months?Shakin_Steve said:My son is a student, he has never done any of those things.0 -

Only if they haven't been schooled in financial matters. He wouldn't do anything that could come back at him without asking dad first.Thrugelmir said:

I have not done anything wrong and I am hiding nothing so I am not sure what I should admit............Shakin_Steve said:But even you must admit, the level of accounts coming under scrutiny seems to be on the increase.
I have absolutely no data on how many accounts are coming under scrutiny, so therefore I don't know whether there is an increase or not. Have you got any statistics on this that you can share?
What I do know is that we have seen what appears to be more reports of account blocking and account closures here on MSE. For most of which we never hear the final outcome, and for all of which we only have what the account holder reports.
BTW, you didn't answer my earlier Q to you.
