Just wondered, sometimes thinking outside the box can be helpful …..
so no that wouldn’t work
but thanks anyway0 -
If that's ALL she does, she might want to think about diversifying. I don't know, I've never had them done myself, but given that money is likely to be tight for everyone, how high up the priority list are eyelash extensions likely to be?spencerrothchild said:

No indication of what the UK will do, of course, but Germany is allowing hairdressers and barbers to start working soon, as long as both parties wear masks. Apparently they are fully booked for weeks already ...Signature removed for peace of mind1 -

Given that hairdressers and beauty salons have been REQUIRED to close, I can't imagine that those who offer such services at home visits are not covered by the same regulations.spencerrothchild said:

I don't know what the law says, precisely. But did you not hear about the scientific adviser who's just had to stand down because his lover (separate household) came to visit him? - and I don't think it was a socially distant, garden-gate kind of visit.
The whole point is that we keep our bugs to ourselves, and minimise our contact with other people who may have different bugs, including Covid 19. If your wife starts making home visits and comes into contact with someone who has the virus - and remember they may not have symptoms! - then she is likely to pass it on to her other clients, as well as to all of you at home. The infection rate is much much higher than for standard flu, which you might pass on to one other person. Also remember that although masks could be worn to cover face and nose, the virus may be lurking in our eyes - remember we're advised not to touch our faces or rub our eyes.
If it were me, even if I COULD work, I'm not sure I'd choose to do so in the near future in that line of work.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
The law is unclear. Beauty salons have to close, however beauty services in someone elses home arent a salon.spencerrothchild said:

It differentiates between premesis and services hence, as I said, its vague and unclear0 -

What sort of work do you do?

Look - its simple - The Government website spells it out clearly!
https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/further-businesses-and-premises-to-close/further-businesses-and-premises-to-close-guidance
To reduce social contact, the government has required by law the businesses and venues in the left-hand column to close to members of the public.
Hairdressers, barbers, beauty and nail salons, including piercing and tattoo parlours.
Like it or not - Your wife has a business whether it is salon based or mobile it is still a business and the rules say they must close - end of.Mags - who loves shopping1
