Congratulations SuseOrm, I bet you are excited and exhausted all in one go. My DD hates change and is still hating the new dining room table I bought over 6 months ago lol. I'm sure once your belongings are all in DS will come roundMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I am still overpaying the mortgage / loan with my uncle. We have also started our renovations and now have a 4 bed rather than a 3 bed house (we split the larger room into 2). The carpet man is coming to finish off DD1's room on Monday and she will move in straight after. We are still waiting for builder to install the window in DD2's bedroom and wont decorate until that messy job has been done. It's taking a long time and I have painted most of the Easter holidays but it will look lovely once done, plus may even add some value to the house - who knows - I wasn't really doing for this purpose, but for the ability to enjoy living here.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thank you Sistergold, yes it finally got underway right at the beginning of March, so we have been living in chaos since. Slight issue with the window as factory burnt down, but currently asking what he plans to do now as not waiting for the factory to be rebuilt! Builder doesn't like to communicate very much so still waiting for a reply. For a fairly simple and what should be quite a quick job he is definitely dragging his heals. Anyway DD1 will be in Monday and DD2 will have to stay with me for a little longerMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Congratulations on your new house @SuseOrm
Fantastic milestone @Sistergold
I've been really silly with money this month, all on meals and food out. I've not spent my full income and still overpaid my usual £100 but I do need to get a bit sensible. I think I need to make sure I eat before going to the pub, spend less on food shopping, and encourage friends to have picnics and drinks in the park or at my house rather than the pub!
I'm doing a free gardening course at a local church which is really motivating me to sort out my garden. I did some weeding and de-brambling last weekend and now thinking about creating flower beds and growing plants in pots in the meantime. I'm also thinking about making the garden work for me, so either a gravel seating area or decking. There are some reasonably priced decking kits. Buying everything individually and cutting to size would be cheaper but I think screwing it up would cost more in the long run and I doubt it would look good 😂Mortgage at 30: £204,750 (08/2020)
Current mortgage: £145,448 (11/2024)
Goal: £145,000 by 02/2025
End goal: Mortgage free asap!2 -
