Hi Ladies, I’m still saving up my deposit £36k before joining you all in August. All this saving is standing me in good stead for frugal living to overpay on my mortgage. Hikes in cost of living are scary. Challenging times of a different sort now post COVID. I’m looking forward to a new financial start in my new house. I definitely won’t be as wasteful with food etc as I’ve been over the years.

You are right @Lantana, frugal living is the way to go with this rise in cost of living. Well done with the deposit, looks like it’s going well.

Hello i wish id found you all 3 years ago 😭
    but better late than never.
I have a property with a tiny mortgage of £49,000 my daughter lives in.
She’ll be there for another 18 months then itll be profitable for me.
Im just about to complete on my house,  its small but will be beautiful.
The plan is to do it up and rent that out too.
So whilst clearing £170,000 in mortgages i also need to save a 10% deposit for my forever home.  About £30,000.
Luckily i have a good income and a couple of side gigs.  Means i work more than most,  am unlikely to form a relationship atm.
My children are older but that brings its own challenges too.  The more i earn the less financial support my children get at university which i feel i need to replenish,  its not their fault is it.  Ex refused to contribute.
I also have a younger child whos not had the private education the older children had,  not had the holidays and experiences.  I try to compensate.
I am full of confidence though,  despite set backs,  my dreams are achievable goals.

Oh what a day! Woke up to no hot water today. Called the gas engineer (around 9am) who moved my boiler few months ago. He came at 2:30pm and changed some part and £150 later I am all sorted again. Thank God it was quick! This would have been a good time to call a landlord but hey, joys of owning a house! You can not say when you will have an emergency!
Hope you are all okay ladies? 🌺

I’m fine, waiting it out patiently still saving and counting down the days til I get my keys! I’m starting to pack up my rental, can’t wait to see the back of it to be honest. Glad you got it fixed.

Good to know that you are okay @lantanna. Exciting counting down the days to collecting your keys! Oh how I hate house packing but always exciting knowing you will be out of rentals! Xx

Yes, this is probably the most challenging part of the whole process, living extremely leanly to save up the final bits and packing up at the same time plus work is manic.
