  • Need some advice of what can be done?
We have two holidays booked with on the beach to Europe, the airline is Ryan air. One holiday is fully paid and the other still has one payment to be made early August.   My mum who is also coming on both holidays has a pre existing health condition, we have had a letter detailing that during the current covid situation she should not travel so would like our holidays cancelled so we can get a full refund. I have contacted on the beach and they have said the airline has no obligation to refund us.

Is there anything I can do, what avenues can I approach.

Clearly the holidays are some time ahead, if you cancel rather than leaving to OTB to do so, you will be subject to the usual cancellation fees. If your Mum has been advised not to travel then that is an insurance claim, providing you have insurance and you advised of her pre-existing condition. If both conditions are satisfied, cancel, get a cancellation invoice from OTB and get the refund from your insurers

  • This company is impossible to deal with .My holiday was cancelled .They promised a refund but I haven’t received it .I have sent multiple messages and tweets which are all unanswered and it is not possible to phone them !
  • I confirm this. The company is a joke. I have a similar situation, the company is refusing to refund flights until they get the money back from the airline. Sounds fair? I don't think so. That's their risk and if they don't have the money maybe they should take a loan to cover for the lack of funds until the airline pays them back. According to The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018 they have 14 days to do the refund. We've been waiting for 3 months and zero communication and their customer services say they still don't know who long to wait.
A terrible company that I will never use and please don't use them too.
If you reading this thread, please make sure you leave then a bad review on trust pilot or other websites like that.
It looks like they are now asking customers who just have booked to do a review, but these people don't know what they signed up too yet.

Instead of berating them why don't you be proactive and instigate a chargeback, you've already wasted three months so take ownership of the situation and do something useful instead of posting an inane rant on here.
  • TP reviews on booking sites will
mean nothing when people have to pay out more to book direct with airlines. They will still let the cost outweigh in the end and take the risk.

Absolutely, you are right. I started that yesterday. I already got my money back using section 75 from gettransfer.com, another company that refused the refund. But their rating is 2.0 on TP and OnTheBeach is still above 3.6. So maybe it was a rant, for me it was more call to action. If you had a problem with OnTheBeach, make sure you leave the review.
