Don't worry about the rant, La E. That would drive me mad too! That was mine & Mr F's attitude to money back in the Spendy Years. I was the one who had a major LBM, so his bad money habits (exactly the sort of thing you describe but with bigger credit limits & whopping overdraft on top of other loans, etc) carried on for a bit longer. He did change though, pretty much because he saw how pleased I was about my own debts coming down & disappearing, & thankfully he decided he wanted in on the action.
Minimum CC payments are just hopeless.... takes forever just to pay off a grand.
So I can totally understand where you're coming from on this.

Morning y'all, am upset as now as have bought bread mix 2,5 kg from tesc0, it better be good, and I figure I can use it to mix with other flour and sourdough to make different breads. But lo and behold. Still no oven. No cakes. No bread. No pizza. My life is a misery.
I am sure you all have bigger more serious problems, to be honest we're pulling though, but cake would help as there has been a lot of nagging this week. I am decorating dining room and it puts everybody on edge, should be done tonight though. No more 15 year old crusty magnolia, but fresh white everything. Can't wait to put everything back, throw out a few more bits, and then have a nice meal.

@ziggy2407 have you checked local wholesalers? I only ask as my neighbours and I have clubbed together and been able to order from a local wholesaler who had a £40 minimum delivery so we’ve each got bits we needed.
Todays plan is to make 2 loaves of banana bread one to keep and one to pass to a neighbour and we are having tacos for lunch. Still deciding what to have for tea but think it will be a freezer chicken nugget and chips type tea or picnic style nibbles with leftover bits that need using.

@La_escocesa Your husband was me for a long time, and it only stopped when I literally crashed my car (not my fault though) and a family member had to bail me out again. My problem is that my family is in an other country, and that's where a lot of my money went. Maybe your husband can start a small stash towards buying bigger things and just stop using his credit card? Maybe discuss lowering limit, and then telling company to not increase limit, I find the automatic increases appalling, I never actively increased my limits! I'm not comparing, but well done you for keeping the discussion going.

Ziggy, are there any functioning windmills around your neck of the woods? There is one in our county (about 20 miles away) which sells its own flour & has a tearoom & shop open in normal circumstances. They are taking flour orders on a collection only basis so I was able to do a decent stock up. I wondered if there is anything similar up your way? It is helping a small business & means people can continue to bake so mutually beneficial.

P. S - Ziggy..... The regular bread stall on our local market is bagging up bread flour & bringing it to market each week too. Also, my sis got some from a local pizzeria in her area of London. The pizza place is closed so advertised that they are selling their flour & making a donation to the food bank with the proceeds. My sis set off to queue for this flour thinking there'd be loads of folk there, but at the time the flour sales started, she was the only one there!! I sent her half my yeast supply (I have a sourdough culture) & so she was finally able to run her breadmaker machine again!
I think we probably need to look at other possible routes to getting flour as the supermarkets are clearly still struggling with this.

Thanks everyone!! I felt so much better after my little offload.😘 I find it hard to talk to friends/family about this sort of thing IRL too... We've paid off £3692.98 since the start of the year so well chuffed about that especially as I stopped earning on 7 Jan! (So maybe that should read 'OH has paid off £3692... 🤣). It's a weird one because although I want him to pay off his CC I know it's at 0% so I'd actually prefer it if he didn't and we could snowball properly and pay off the 9% loan quicker, but obviously the snowball only works if other debts aren't going up so maybe we should pay off the small CC...??!!🤯 Maybe now is the time to pin the snowball to the fridge and get everything down in black and white for both of us to see...
@ziggy2407 - my SIL got flour delivered from a mill not far from you - I'll pm you the details if you like.
What else...
- got out for a walk before the rain came tumbling down!
- making LO decorations for her bday - was unimpressed by the selection online
- batch cooking - lasagne tonight
Boring stuff really - I honestly don't want to bore you 🤣

Our local Aldi had both plain & self raising flour this week. The first lot I have seen in there since the panic buying and lockdown.
Today is another cool damp day. As we are on top of the washing we are not trying to dry it in the house
Today's plans:stick to the meal plan
update freezer inventory
correctly delivered survey
remind OH to submit his expenses
home educate the children for free
turning off lights and appliances when not in use
Pmp etc
deal with some emails
print resources for a project with dd
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family5 -
Afternoon allDidn't sleep well again, but have been reasonably productive so far:Walked dog at silly o'clock - I am supposed to stay in, so go before 6am, before anyone much is aboutFound and emailed something to DD2 that she had asked forLoad of washing, out on line now it has stopped raining. Chilly today though!Cleaned bathroom, including the floorCleaned yucky stove topLunch was more spinach and feta quiche and salad bitsSorted my business accounts out - I made a small profit for the 19/20 tax year. HMRC will be pleased, lol.Still need to check banks and send some money to DD1 for GD3's birthdayWrite birthday card for GD3 so that OH can post it when he takes the dog out later.Make a lasagne for dinner, ragu all done, so only a matter of making a cheese sauce, putting it all together and sticking in oven.La E, I understand your frustration. My instinct would be to focus on your own debt, if any, and joint debt, and try and get those down and avoid them going up again if at all possible. Controlling what you can is less stressful than worrying about what you can't.Ziggy, various farm shops and wholesalers round here are supplying flour, as supermarkets, or at least the ones I can get to deliver, are not. The wholesaler I am using at the moment usually supplies the hospitality trade, but as that is non existent, they have switched to private customers. Lovely products and excellent service, though prices are variable. Only problem is they have now sold out of 3kg bags of flour and I have therefore ordered a 10kg one for next time
OH will think I have finally lost the plot!
