There is going to be further talk of jam roly poly I’m afraid folks as I still haven’t made it, so on the list it will go for today 😂
I’ve been up early again and enjoyed browsing a food website where I’m having a small delivery later in the week. They have lots of other yummy produce on offer and it’s the first time since lockdown that they are able to deliver lots of the products so I thought I’d take a look. Please to say only 1 item was added to my basket that was very reasonably priced and will be added to the meal plan. Saw lots of other lovely things and previous spends me may have added more, but it was very satisfying thinking I could make that instead for less etc... And I wasn’t tempted. Was nice to window shop for a bit though. Also signed up to 2 months free of read1y.com its got loads of magazines on it and back issues to read online. Made a note in diary of when free period ends. Hopefully of use to someone.Anyway, today’s list:
make jam roly poly
smalls to have music lesson via face time
juice some beetroot
talk to DH about holiday that has been cancelled, they have given us the option to rebook or refund.
process whatever the outcome of ^^ is online
reconcile just for points CC, pleased that everyday spending has got us to £25 of vouchers so far
look at mays budget and see if it can/needs to be tweaked
make a cake/biscuits of some description with smalls.Stewed fruit for breakfast, will freeze half the batch I made yesterdayWater seedlings
water fruit trees if we don’t get any rain that’s forecast
knit or sew or crochet for relaxation later
have a good day all. Purps.4 -
Morning allBeen awake since about 2.45 am, gave up and got up just before 5. Not sure why, as I have been sleeping quite well lately. Anyway, it is pouring with rain and the dog has informed me he is not going out in it
Just had my porridge, a bit earlier than usual, as I was hungry. It is obviously not going to be a gardening day, so today's plans look like this:
Sort fridge out. I will do some batch cooking to use up some bits. Got chicken breasts and mince out of the freezer in readiness. I think I will make a ragu and a chicken bhuna. And something with leftover pastry. Trouble is, small packages come out of the freezer, then I need to find space for large tubs of cooked meals. Advanced tetris skills needed I think! Some cleaning / sorting / putting away, not sure exactly what yet, but there is plenty to choose from! And I might sort out the accounts for my poor little abandoned business, as I will need to do a tax return at some point. This might be a step too far given lack of sleep, but if it is on the list it will get done, even if it isn't today.Hope everyone has a good day3 -

Morning all. Spent all day yesterday trying to get panic attacks under control, partly succeeded. Plucked up courage to ring doctor's this morning (I have health anxiety and hate going to the doc's - it's complicated) and they will ring me back. Have broadly convinced myself that my symptoms are related to my well-known acid reflux problem and not something sinister, which is what was mashing my head yesterday along with all the other things mashing all of our heads!
Today:- do something that seems like work. Boss is being supportive which is good.
- not mention schoolwork once as it caused major meltdown yesterday which didn't help anything
- check banks - it's payday
- if it doesn't rain, water outside plants
- just look after myself
- plan which book or other small treat I will get for DD , I have said I will treat her in some way every week in lockdown. Parental guilt over something I can't control! Just trying to come up with new things for her to do/read while she can't see her friends
Thanks for all the kind words yesterday. Hope you're all OK.

Morning all,
Thanks for the warm welcome
I feel better already this morning now I know what and where all the debt is and am going to start a spending diary today as when I do my SOA I seem to have money left at the end of the month but in reality I don't.
Today's tasks:
* work
* draw up decking to scale so need to work out what we need (my parents are gifting us the materials to do a decking at the back of our garden)
* ring doctors about prescription - ordered online last Monday and asked to have it taken to the pharmacy, they didn't tell me when I could pick it up and don't want to go out unless I have to
* Update spread sheet as it's pay day and a few DDs have gone out
* Switch paypal and spotify cards to our new BA amex card to get the points towards flights
* I also want to look at a garden wifi enhancer, we have no phone signal where we live so wifi is life. If it's too expensive will not purchase.
* Food is all from stores
- breakfast was yogurt/cereal
- lunch will be left over curry from last night
- tea is meat free balls, tomato sauce and spaghetti
It's raining here so at least we're saving on watering the garden!
Have a good day all.My debt free diary

Hi gang
Not been around in a while - just a wee change in routine I guess since the lockdown... Hope we're all keeping well. 😘
Things here are good here tbh - enjoying the slower pace of life. My first pay day tomorrow (still off work but mat leave has ended and I'm back on annual leave for another month) so looking forward to getting paid. Made it to the end of mat leave/zero pay and and there's over £1800 left in the pot so happy about that. 👏
🤬🤬Rant alert!!🤬🤬 I've been really furious with OH today - he bought a big purchase on his CC and kinda mentioned it to me as something he'll probably buy but didn't actually talk through how much it was, how he was planning to pay it off (i.e. that he has no real plan except to pay min payment from now until eternity) etc. And def didn't mention it was going on his CC. For those of you who've known me for a while you'll know that this goes way back... 🙄 He's never going to change (is he?!) but over recent years it's not been as much of an issue because we can afford it. TBH even with his latest big purchase it didn't really affect our finances too much but it's just the whole attitude that I can't cope with. He has no regard for how it will affect our budget as a whole. Says things like 'there's a category in YNAB for that' - the categories don't magically fill themselves, we still need to determine how to split the pots!!!! And will I f*** take money out of, say, the home/car insurance pot, so you can go and buy whatever the hell you like whenever the hell you want! 🤬 I know he's bought a few things on his CC recently (he doesn't hide it or anything) so I asked him how much he has on his CC at the moment but he couldn't tell me - about £2k apparently - but the fact that he doesn't know, will have no clue when the 0% rate ends etc is what really gets me. So a year will pass, he'll pay a tiny bit each month, they'll then start charging interest and the whole cycle will start again - get a new card, move balance, spend on the old card now there's nothing on it. He used to have a crappy card with 30% interest or something and a really low limit but now he has about an £8k limit he sees it as a good thing! I think I got through to him but I've thought this for the past 13 years. When we first got together I gave him £1000 and he was meant to pay me back at £100 every month and each month I had to ask him about 10 times before he actually paid me back. After about month 4 I got so sick of asking ten times each month that I gave up. The writing was on the wall, wasn't it?! I should've known then what I was getting myself into!! 🤬 We're never going to get out of debt because we're chasing a moving target!
Anyway... I put on my big girl pants and reconciled YNAB. Felt better after I got that all balanced. And then I went through all of our joint debts/mortgage to see how much we've paid off so far this year. I guess I can just focus on myself and making sure all the joint finances don't go down the pan. 😫
Oh gosh, sorry for my rant! Thanks for listening!
I'll go back through the thread now and see how you are all doing now I've got that off my chest 🤣

Today we made home made pizza. We were going to have tacos but the mince hasn’t defrosted so monkey boy started asking for a dominos pizza. Last week I’d have said yes as it was only £20 but new me said no, let’s make pizza as it will be quicker and we can have a domnios treat when school goes back! He happily agreed to that and then icing on the cake said my pizza was nicer but he only asked for dominoes as he wanted chicken wings. Mummy magic happened and I pulled a bag of bbq wings out the freezer so he had his “dominos” treat but for a fraction of the cost. I don’t know how much tonight’s meal cost but I’d say it was under £5 for us both so a good saving there.6

Thank you @PurpleFairy26 for starting this weeks thread :
Yesterday I did the weeks shopping, no more plans to use the car in April. We also started a claim for the cost of holiday accommodation, we are not expecting this to be successful if it is not, we will put in a charge back claim on the credit card, feel good to have taken some action, not having a plan was making me unsettled.
Today has been damp and cool and the last couple of hours its rained. The living room felt uncomfortably cool so we have lit the fire and it is now toasty.
Today I have:checked bank accounts
recorded yesterday's spends (nothing else planned for the week)
made a loaf of bread
made a batch of porridge
updated freezer inventory
filed the paperwork that came in today's post, this is a biggy normally it sits on the side for weeks
Pmp etc
Correctly delivered survey
Put the kettles on the stove for free hot water
enjoyed reading my book
Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
