If I received that letter I would read it as a threat too otherwise why bother mentioning her connections.
Exactly. Very unethical at the least. Surely this goes against whatever contract she signed with her newspaper; surely she can't use her position as leverage like that.
Unethical. From a writer at the daily mail? :open_mouth: Surely not!

Martin Lewis will know lots of people. Doesn't mean that they are close friends.

My mistake - on the name if not the sentiment expressed

What exactly are you looking to get out of this?
To see if other people also think I was threatened. To perhaps get the attention of Martin Lewis, or a spokesperson of Martin Lewis to hear their opinion.

But are you going to only take the opinions of people who agree with you that the letter was threatening?
That's what happens quite often on here when people ask for other people's opinions.

You'll not get Martin Lewis's attention by posting a thread on here.

Opinion from my solicitor, barrister, another forum, this forum. I have contacted the Daily Mirror for their opinion and IPSO.

Landlord intimidation is classed as landlord harassment, which unfortunately for all the people on here taking the journalists side is a big deal.

It would be such a shame if she lost her job.

    • All land is owned. If you are not on yours, you are on someone else's
    • When on someone else's be it a road, a pavement, a right of way or a property there are rules. Don't assume there are none.
    • "Free parking" doesn't mean free of rules. Check the rules and if you don't like them, go elsewhere
    • All land is owned. If you are not on yours, you are on someone else's and their rules apply.

I've not taken any side (so far).
But I can't see why it is unfortunate for all the people on here taking the journalist's (aka landlord) side.
It's not a big deal for them.
They are not the ones being harassed or the one doing the harassing.
They are simply giving their opinion on a pubic forum.
