Will try it if the problem occurs again. 50 minute whatsapp video call last night didnt cause any issues. On my phone i use Messenger video chat and no issues with that too.
Hopefully its just a Facetime issue which is easy to fix by using some other app0 -

I get what you are saying, but the DHCP table is only used (or read) when a new device joins the network and asks for an IP address.
If the device is already on the network with its IP address (dynamic or static), the DHCP does not get involved. When the router needs to reach device X, it checks its ARP table to see if there is any matching entry for address 192.168.X.Y. If there isn't, is sends an ARP request. This is irrespective of whether the device has obtained its address automatically or if it is set manually.
TL;DR: Routers don't look at DHCP tables unless a new device joins the network and asks for a new address0 -
Yes I know (except for lease expiry) who knows how this relic of a router deals with lease tables etc, but if you give everything static addresses and then disable DHCP on the router, one less thing to get in the way

Thought i would update the thread. 11 days of not using Facetime and the wifi has been stable. So seems that was the culprit afterall. Thanks everyone for the help, seems not using Facetime is cheaper than replacing the router

Check out for dead zone in your house. Also, you may want to get a new router or maybe purchase a device that can boost signal.0

Well, using Whatsapp is still causing issues, although slightly different now. Whenever a call between my Dad and sister is made, a few mins in my internet slows to a crawl. Looking at the pings, we're talking 2000ms or some just time out. Websites refuse to load. I know my connection isnt the fastest, but it shouldnt be causing those issues.Doesnt always happen, and when i make a call with my phone to his i cant replicate the issue, not sure why. Anyway decided to order a new router, as i cant see what else it can be.0

Guys, thank you for your ideas. I have a similar problem and I think that thanks to your advice I can solve it without the help of a specialist. I really need the Wi-Fi to work properly, because I am preparing for the Cisco exams to get a certification. Having Cisco certifications will give me the opportunity to get the job I've always wanted. And I can't stop halfway because of the bad Internet. So I have to solve this problem as soon as possible. By the way, it's good that there are forums where you can always find help. And I'm glad to be a part of your community.
