Sorry for double post...
I have just been browsing the DFW board, and came across the 20p savers club. Made me wonder  if anyone would like to do a challenge within a challenge so to speak? Okay... bare with me...
I would like to top up the amount I have for Christmas by saving either 20p's or 50p's or something and banking it in my Christmas savings account that my mum holds for me. It's just to sort of bump up my Christmas stash, and although it's technically not "free" money, my actual aim with this challenge is to buy all gifts/save up the dosh over the year in order to make Nov/Dec "free". So... does anyone want to play?
If so let me know what coins we're going for, or if it's just any silver or whatever.
Hope that's ok Choca, just thought it might spur people (by that I obviously mean ME!) on a bit with this challenge.

Fine by me although all my money like that goes in my sealed pot.
Hope everyone is keeping ok and stashing those savings away. Just ordered another £10 Argos voucher from Valued Opinions, finally reached the £50 payout level from It'sYourView (although this might need to go on my credit card payment this month!!), reached the £25 payout at FreeFivers - but rolled it over to next month and I'm very close to payout at CashBack rewards!!
Here's my monthly update:
Vouchers
£80 Argos vouchers
£13 HMV voucher
£15 Amazon
£24 Gift card Boots
Cash
£60 spent
£113.98 banked
Points
£164.53 Boots
£15 WH Smiths
£12.50 Nectar
Total £498.01
Total at end of February: £438.20
Total increased - £59.810 -
How is everyone doing? I have to admit after my initial burst in January I have let this slip a bit. I am still saving monthly cash wise for Christmas but haven't done much about getting some bargain presents.
I have a full present drawer and have four or five people sorted but definately need to get some more.
I might look around for bargains for the various children we buy for. They are always easy to get bits for as want so much. So my task for May is to get some childrens bits in.
Is anyone else finding it really hard to buiild up piggypoints? Seems to be taking me forever to get to the next tenner.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712
03/09/09 - DEBT FREE AT LAST
Racing Hypno to Save - £10/£50000 -
well, i wrote a massive post earlier and it deleted (sigh of relief i hear...?!), so ill shorten this one!
ground rent due for caravan next week, and going away 8th may, after that will be upping my efforts immensely for this challenge. at the moment got £25/month going to my mum towards c mas and also been buying bits and pieces. Got 6 thick woolly scarves in a lovely bright purple colour for 10p each from primark other day. so I've got 6 main c mas pressies sorted for 60p!Hoorah.
anyhow, going to bed for a very early night now, see you the morrow.

Yup, I think I get about 15p a week - not gonna get rich from that!
Just received the £10 Argos voucher I was waiting on. Decided that when I get the cash I'm waiting on this month will add that to the money fund and that's it for hard cash - any money I get after that is going into next year's holiday fund. Will still be adding the vouchers though - hope to get a few more of those by December!0 -
Haven't posted in while.
New totals:
£10 Schuh Giftcard
£25 HMV Giftcard
£10 Leisure Voucher
£5 Sainsbury Voucher
£10 Next Giftcard
£20.06 Pigsback
£23.99 Boots Advantage Card
26000 points Toluna (Awaiting for another 30000 to be converted into £5 Sainsbury's voucher)
£7.53 Nectar points
£111.58 Approx total
I'm making slow progress.
I'm a bit annoyed that they've upped the amount to redeem on vouchers on Pigsback.
Just an idea for anyone waiting to make hampers. M&S have a got a toiletries range. Items are starting from £1 onwards.
I've seen in my local Lidl that they do small bath bombs for 6 for £1.79 (whilst stocks last). Hopefully this helps someone complying any hampers.
Keep up the good work.0 -
I am annoyed with Pigsback too!!
I gave my mum my £10 M&S voucher from them as she gave me loads of stuff to ebay and let me keep the ££

I know I'll be upping my efforts from the end of May onwards after sea side. I think my annoying habit is that I think- oh there's loads of time left yet, then about 2 months prior I think- OOOOPS....
Not doing bad so far to say We not spare money. Also I'm now up to £56 in vouchers which I'm quite pleased with, and so far paid off £20 of my £60 Park hampers vouchers as well. (After holiday I might add another £40 on to this to get £100 in total but I'll see how money goes after hols)
Start my new Saturday job 24th May, apparently the tips are quite good- so I will use all the tips towards Christmas also
