I have fibromyalgia, newly diagnosed but am having many high pain days where I cannot go to work

Just keep going to work then. You stated you were struggling with it but you won’t listen to any suggestions. If your husband wants to put his gaming PC set up before you then that’s fine. If you honestly live in a shoebox where you can’t box up a PC and put it in a corner, under a bed, on top of a wardrobe, on top of a kitchen unit, etc etc without it spontaneously breaking then that’s on you.
You want to keep your job, then keep it. They’re not going to bend over backwards for you because your husband won’t plug in a wire because of ‘tracking’ because they know that’s a dumb excuse. You’ll just have to keep going into work. If you have too many sick days because of your fibromyalgia whilst also refusing reasonable changes to work from home (and they are reasonable, the only person being unreasonable is your husband, and you for allowing him to be so) then they can dismiss you on capability. Your condition will only protect you for so long.Good luck with your PIP claim as I think you’re going to need that income shortly.7 -
The blue cable must be a standard cable type - I'm presuming an ethernet cable? If the issue is proximity to the WiFi router, then could you do an ethernet over power by purchasing the kit? (£40-£50). Tp-link is a good brand for the kit.
I'm going to be honest though, your husband sounds like a member of the tinfoil hat brigade. I'm also concerned that he won't help you with what is a reasonable adjustment, which will enable you to carry on working (which must pay more than PIP?), and doing the work from home - reducing your risk of getting infected (and him infected), and also helping you to (hopefully) keep your job long-term.
EDIT: I notice from a previous post that the wired connection is needed for "security"... how happy would work be for your husband to be working in the same room, and therefore potentially able to see what is on your screen?
