Wait until contract is up the go through topcashback or quidco for some free money.
Do you have a friend or family member who works for the NHS as they get corporate discount on the call part of the refresh tariff.
Look at an outright purchase for the phone and then use a firm that piggybacks onto o2 if you have to use them as line rental is a fraction of what 02 will charge you

my sister works for the NHS and i did not know they received discounts! I have been on 02 for a long time with the refresh contact - can i claim back?

"4.2. All applications for an Airtime Discount must be made online at [removed] within 28 days of signing up to or upgrading to an O2 Refresh contract taken out with an eligible handset, tablet, hotspot or dongle (excluded devices will be listed on [removed] as determined solely by O2 from time to time eligible) purchased directly from O2 (“Qualifying Contract”)."

Looks like it can't be backdated

Phones are getting expensive now days and that's why they offer you a 36 month contract or I say loan plan for the phone then Airtime Plan Separate...

I am gonna wait till New Iphones come out later on in the year before I do anything
  • GTR King Have you thought about buying a power bank to recharge your phone, £15 to £20 is a big saving on a new phone.

If I use my iphone xs for Facebook/Web Browsing Messages/Calls it last most of the day or till I get home from work...

If I watch videos FaceTime or Play CSR 2 it last's allot less

The way around this done it from bro in law, he had 214 to to leave o2, so i took out a small o2 refresh deal. it was the p30 lite i took it out cost of phone for 205 on refresh. o2 agreed to pay the remainder of the contract. so i took out phone and got free earphones. i sold both the phone and earphones for 180. so it only cost me 25 pound effectively leave them. I ended up going on chat and starting a new o2 refresh deal. got the p30 pro for 396. i will pay that off quickly and move to a sim only deal probably on o2 via 3rd party.

Could do that but feel like o2 rip you off with phone prices e.g charge you more for the device etc
