Teletext Holidays refund ??

How many hours is the time change?  Teletext Holidays T&Cs for packages don't allow cancellation unless the flights have changed by 12 hours or more.

The Competition and Markets Authority have announced today that they will take legal action against Teletext Holidays for their failure to refund £7 million outstanding refunds.

CMA chief executive Andrea Coscelli said: "There must be no more delays to Teletext refunding customers for holidays they could not take because of the pandemic.

"It is unacceptable that many have already waited months for the refunds they are legally entitled to. We take very seriously the ongoing failure of Teletext Holidays to meet its obligations.

"The firm must now comply with the law and commit to refunding its customers. If it does not do so, we will not hesitate to pursue this case in court."

Hopefully, this will result in action in the next few days (or weeks) not months

My holiday on 25th September 2020 was cancelled because of covid the day before i was due to fly and I was told I would be due a refund and it will take up to 90 days.  We are now nearing 8 months since the cancelation and i still haven't had a refund.  i have called them so many times only to be constantly fobbed off saying 'just wait a few more week'.  I have sent emails to the department who are supposed to be processing the refunds and received an automated response advising they will be in touch in 48hours, but never received a response.  I have sent emails to their MD office who again sent an automated response sayin it will be looked at and responded to within 48hours and not had any response.  What can i now do and how can i complain as i am clearly getting nowhere with them?

I am sooo frustrated, I booked to take my parents away for the new year 2021,  however its was cancelled due to travel restrictions.  I was told i would receive a voucher 14 days after departure day, received nothing then phoned back was kept on hold for over an hour was then told a month due to the demand.  In the meantime i contacted the airlines and they authorised refund but could only give it back to holiday company (teletext) which i got confirmation of straight away.  I have contacted them nearly every 3 -4 weeks since since Jan and still am getting no where and its wracked up a nice phone bill !!  This was a lots of money my elderly parents paid out as it had been a rough year, which hasn't got any better !  Is there any way of escalating this, has anyone had any success in getting a refund?

I was about to suggest legal action when an announcement arrived in my inbox at 1800 today

In a statement, Teletext Holidays said: “We are pleased that a successful conclusion has been reached with the CMA in regards to the processing of refunds for our customers who have had their package holidays cancelled due to Covid-19.

“Further details of the refund timescale and process we will be embarking upon will be published on our website by May 28.”

The CMA opened an investigation into Truly Holdings, which operates Teletext Holidays and Alpharooms.com, on February 4 and warned the company at the end of April that it was preparing to take court action.

It said Truly Holdings has signed undertakings to repay customers with bookings cancelled on or before July 31 last year by June 30.

Bookings cancelled between August 1 2020 and October 31 2020 will be refunded by July 31, and those cancelled between November 2020 and May 24 this year will be refunded by August 31.

Truly Holdings has also committed to paying full refunds within 14 days for package holidays cancelled from May 25 onwards.

If they do not stick to these timescales I expect the CMA will issue legal action against them, so have a look at their website from 28th onwards!
