Ok thanks, so if someone has corona in the workplace and wasn’t aware what are the chances of them passing it around?

It’s very sad isn’t it that non essential businesses continue to operate
Err no, despite being being paid 7p above min wage if you want to think I'm working 35 hours alone, (the truth being 7 hours more; it hasn't slowed down) I would quite like a job for my mental heath. We're seeing how many people should never have been allowed businesses or to run them though it was always a run away comment of oh well why don't you go work for yourself with no understanding of what that actually meant. I've had customers crying to those that have said good to hear a smile down the phone.
It's very sad as it grows clearer a lot of people didn't like their job despite being paid more often then not being paid above and beyond min wage. It has also been good for me to break the cycle of being addicted to online job hunting (you know the stuff alcoholics and gamblers get help with...)

So I can work in an unsafe environment and be refused the opportunity to be at home in a safe environment, this is upsetting
You can stay at home all you like, nobody is forcing you to do anything.

This is very true, and why I am
going to, I need to prioritise my health over money.
    You mean your partner’s health...

    What is that you do?

If my health is affected it is possible my partners is also, despite all the precautions I take it is still possible to pass it on is it not ?

J50, we appear to be of similar opinions. I also am of the opinion that my business is not providing an essential service yet unfortunately i have to work.

The choice will boil down to being simple: as i am not sick i will have to either decide do i want to end up losing my job or do i want to guarantee my health. It's a no win situation. I am obviously gambling with my health and those i live with as i have decided to not lose my job. It frustrates me as we are all now at risk because of me but the alternative is not affording to put food on the table.

What also frustrates me is "stay home save lives". I am rubbing shoulders with 100s of the public through the week as my workplace dips in and out of following guidelines. They say the right things verbally but their actions are the opposite. Basically they want to do the right thing (i think) but then someone dangles a coin in front of their faces and they lose all sense and they choose to take more risk at the expense of our health.

So the government has decided that i cannot go visit a relative of mine as they don't live with me, i cannot stand at one end of the driveway with them at the other, 10 metres between us because it is "unsafe" and i am "risking lives" by doing that, yet the same people have decided it is ok for me to rub shoulders with 100s of the public Monday-Friday.

You'll have to forgive me for feeling like what is the point when i get home from work. That's not to say i am going visiting relatives, i am still doing my bit, but i still now feel like what is the point because it doesn't make sense.

Nothing makes sense or is fair, I have been far closer to others then I have to own my children during this time, but that is life.

Due to the lack of testing in the general population,  no-one knows.
But what you need to bear in mind is the news is only broadcasting figures for those who have died. Some of whom would have died anyway from other causes. Not people who have had it but not needed hospital treatment,  nor those who have recovered and gone home.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Yes i agree. It is a [poop] situation but it is life at the moment. Sad that we're in this situation and i know i'm not alone so i don't mean it to appear to be coming from a woe is me angle. Still, if it makes me feel ever so slightly better to have a grumble then i'll have a grumble.
My coworkers are feeling pressured in to working in an unsafe manner because the company is putting greater and greater demands on them, trying to push us to work as normal. It'd be like your local supermarket saying well damn we didn't expect 50 people in the queue, that's quite a lot, ok then we may as well let everyone in, on you go and just do your best.
