Thanks for the replies, I have told my manager that my partner is high risk and I didn’t receive much back.
im not a key worker so I’m confused why I have to be in work anyway. 9 staff have been furloughed and 3 of us have been asked to return as we are “needed”

Are they alternating the people who are furloughed on a 3 weekly cycle?
It may be that other workers are also around people who are high risk - if they need some one in,  they need someone in. There may be valid reasons for asking you rather than other people.
In terms of why they are still open,  presumably so that all 9 of you still have jobs to go back to at the end of this.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

This is very true, and why I am
going to, I need to prioritise my health over money.
That is fine and your choice.

So I can work in an unsafe environment and be refused the opportunity to be at home in a safe environment, this is upsetting
You can stay at home all you like, nobody is forcing you to do anything.

It’s very said isn’t it that non essential businesses continue to operate
Depends what you call "non essential"
To me essential is food, medicine and health care

i don’t work in any of these, hence why my work is non essential.

Both food and medicines require packaging which has to be manufactured and distributed
Electricity, gas and water supplies need to be maintained as does the mains drainage system.
TV and radio stations need to be able to function to provide information and entertainment.
    Newspapers need to be published
PPE needs to be manufactured and distributed
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

Furlough is only in place until the end of June. If you were furloughed until that time, what would you do after that? You don't really expect this to be all over by that time do you? At some point you will have to return to work and maintain strict hygiene.

No I doubt it will be over by that time, I am cautious about distancing and cleaning and what not but some aren’t, and it worries me that’s all.

Then stick to the strict hygiene when returning from work, including only wearing the same shoes then you're protecting the rest of your household.

Do masks work? I’ve read several articles and some say yes and some no?

Unless you have the masks they are more to protect others then you.
