im not a key worker so I’m confused why I have to be in work anyway. 9 staff have been furloughed and 3 of us have been asked to return as we are “needed”
It may be that other workers are also around people who are high risk - if they need some one in, they need someone in. There may be valid reasons for asking you rather than other people.
In terms of why they are still open, presumably so that all 9 of you still have jobs to go back to at the end of this. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

Furlough is only in place until the end of June. If you were furloughed until that time, what would you do after that? You don't really expect this to be all over by that time do you? At some point you will have to return to work and maintain strict hygiene.

Then stick to the strict hygiene when returning from work, including only wearing the same shoes then you're protecting the rest of your household.
