They could follow the normal rules for you not attending work. So yes if they wanted. J50 said:J50 said:so if I refused to go back I wouldn’t get furlough pay
Could they sack me ?
Then you report them it is not a reason not to attend without even trying to get it sorted.

Why should you not be working if you are not a key worker? the advice is still go to work if you can't from home. Somebody needs to pays for all of this.0 -
It’s very sad isn’t it that non essential businesses continue to operate0

Of course everyone would like to stay home but that won't be practical. Whichever way you look at it, it's still your employers decision.

So I can work in an unsafe environment and be refused the opportunity to be at home in a safe environment, this is upsettingpoppy12345 said:It's still your employers decision whether they furlough you or not.J50 said:

Strict hygiene rules can still be maintained...

Depends what you call "non essential"J50 said:It’s very said isn’t it that non essential businesses continue to operateIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
To me essential is food, medicine and health carelincroft1710 said:

i don’t work in any of these, hence why my work is non essential.

It's not sad, it's imperative unless you want to see the country descend into depression. All of these Government handouts will have to be paid for - by taxation generated by operating companies and people working. Companies going to the wall and employees being laid off would only exacerbate the already dire financial outlook.J50 said:It’s very sad isn’t it that non essential businesses continue to operate1 -
