The account has no bonus rate or conditions to earn a higher interest rate.  There is also no mention of what happens if you don't make a monthly payment.

I think you're thinking too deeply about this.  They can only do what's written in the key facts, of which there are no consequences to not making a monthly payment.

Kinder to people doesn't constitute 'challenging them by phone' in my book. And thats what I was replying to.

I don't see the point of asking on here and being given an answer times x and are then determined to recontact them anyway.

My advice - if you really can't afford £10 (or have somewhere better to place your £10) set it down to 0 - if you then fall foul of them use this evidence to ensure you're in the right in the future.

Alternatively set it down to £10 to be sure.

Whatever I (personally) wouldn't be calling them at this time to take them to task. Leave that to the future - should you need to do so.....

    That's my two penneth worth.

    P.S. for what it's worth I hold issues 2 and 3 and....

I'll be emptying (online) the issue 3 apart from £10 and have reduced the s.o. to £10.

Continuing to pay £250 into issue 2.

I.e. YBS are, at least, fair should interest rates rise if that glimmer still exists!

I'll also be doing some jiggery pokery with the NatWest Builder tomorrow too!

    But that's off thread!

My issue 3 will get closed tomorrow, and the only YBS account I will still have after tomorrow is my treasured old Egg Money account, which has long only paid a paltry 0.35% or so but has unique capabilities  B) which are as rare as hen's teeth. I won't be giving that one up any time soon unless they force me to.

I will continue with issue 2, down to 1.3% tomorrow. What is the benefit of continuing issue 1 and 3 with a minimum monthly SO of £10? I will be closing 1 and 3 unless I`m missing something.

My Issue 1 is closing tomorrow, as there will be zero likelyhood of the rate going back up before July when it matures. Issue 3 I've closed, only had £900 in it, and if the rate goes back up before next February when it matures, I cannot see the point of keeping £10 in it just in case.

Closing issue 1 and 3 tomorrow and will transfer it to the 1.9% RCI 5 yr bond.
Keeping issue 2 for the 1.3% rate.
