Apologies if this has been discussed but I have a static caravan on an established site and have paid there fees every year to stay in it from April to October every year obviously the virus has stopped us this year my query is whilst they are quick enough collecting my fees I have heard nothing from them about a refund because I won’t be able to use it till I am allowed to travel I am sure there are thousands like me but it’s a subject I have not seen discussed in any way so I wondered opinions anyone could enlighten me if they have heard ( or not ) from there site operators thank you

Read your contract. If you are paying site/storage fees then no refund is due because they are still storing your caravan. If your contract guarantees you access then you have a case.
From your wording, I infer that you may have a two-tier contract? Storage November to March, residency April to October. Is that right?0 -
well the caravan does not move so it’s not really stored other caravan sites around me offer different months of opening and I do know one caravan site near me has offered a weekly refund to its owners which they are going to credit the money to there bill next year I pay for the use of the site and water rates none of these are used and I believe the site owners will be recompensed for loss of business so I don’t think it’s right that they don’t recompense us as well0

To be honest wether it’s stored or not is not the issue I have paid thousands to have use of the van and now I find I can’t even drive to it so again I say I am paying fir a service I am not receiving0

See what you can negotiate with the site owner, you cannot expect 100% refund for the days you cannot use the van as it is still being stored thereIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0

I don’t expect all my money back but I do expect them to be reasonable I was hoping to talk to other static caravan owners in the same boat as me and to find out if there site operators had been in touch to tell them there thoughts0

As suggested have you spoken to the site owners?

I think it’s well documented that site owners rule the roost on static caravan sites so no I have not I wanted to pre arm myself with helpful comments before I go to them I think I am looking in the wrong place0
