80% grant for self employed

Can anyone confirm if self employed will receive the full 80% grant in June even if they have worked during the 3 month period that the grant is covering?

some people say you get the grant no matter what, others say you’ll only get the grant to top up lost earnings..

so if I was entitled to £7500 for 3 months but earned £2500 over that period would I get £5000 or the full £7500?

Any earnings you have had during this period will have no impact on the grant (based on information available). HMRC have no mechanism for knowing what you are currently earning on a self employed basis as you are only required to report it after the end of the tax year so I don’t see how it could be taken into account anyway unless they build something into the application process and we don’t yet know what that is.
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

    The paragraph I outlined?
  • You have posted a screenshot relating to Universal Credit (DWP).

Your original post was (seemingly) about the SEISS scheme run by HMRC.

What relevance has UC got to the SEISS grant?

You asked about the SEISS grant. The page you have shown appears to be about Universal Credit.

No you wont get a grant if your still working. Do you think that is fair? The conditions are set clearly. You must have lost profit in the last three months and not been able to work since March.
  • Do you expect to meet those criteria?

Calcotti, I think maybe you were correct in your first post,  however I keep getting told by people who think they are in the know that the grant will only be Used to top up lost income rather than a definitive 3 months,  I was told the government are not giving away free money and that we’ll all need to prove how we have been effected.

I think you are mixing up the Job Retention Scheme (furloughing)  and SEISS.

You can continue to trade and be eligible for SEISS.  Or have you read something different?
