How do you choose what car tyres to buy on a budget

The reason why I said I want something good in the wet is due to me living on a hill and the red traficop speed cushions are slippery when wet so unless you speed over them the tyres will just spin over them. Also some of the roundabouts and car parks are very slippery when wet.AdrianC said:https://www.blackcircles.com/order/tyres/search?width=185&profile=60&rim=15&loadratings=84
Of those, I'd be going for the £56 Toyo, £59 Avon or £65 Uniroyal.
If wet is the priority, the Uniroyals.
On my old car I put on avon tyres and they wouldn't go over the speed ramps when wet so I changed to goodyear efficientgrip and they was good in the wet but they was very soft and worn down very fast.

Another Vote for Avon here as well, good grip and wear and cheap.

I put Avon ZV7 XLs on my last car. I found them far superior to the Conti prem contact 2s the car came with. Much quieter, better grip, less roll and way cheaper. Toyos are a bit too quick to wear out for my liking, a trade off for the excellent grip. I have used Barum before, Continentals budget brand, found them pretty good. The Contis on my current car are a bit harsh but likely the 45 profile accounts for some of that !

I've been looking at tyres and I've narrowed it down to four but what do people think.
Hankook KINERGY ECO K425 £66. Fuel C, Wet B, 69db.
Hankook K125 VENTUS PRIME 3 £63. Fuel C, Wet A, 70db.
Pirelli Cinturato P1 Verde £69. Fuel E, Wet C, 68db.
Firestone Roadhawk £62. Fuel C, Wet A, 70db.
The reviews for the Wet A rating seems to be a soft tyre and wears fast.

I run Uniroyal Rainsport 3s and the amount of grip in the rain is better than I had from the Pirellis that were on the car when I got it. I dont think they make the rainsport for 15 inch rims but they do have a Rain Expert which is just about on budget. If its wet weather grip you want these should be a contender. Just be mindful that they will probably not last as many miles as many other tyres.Welsh_and_proud said:I'm looking to buy 4 car tyres but I don't want to pay over £65 a tyre so how do I know what to buy that will be good in the wet.

Pretty much any of those will cut the mustard... But if you can afford the Uniroyal, go for them.0

Another vote for Uniroyal I had the Rain Expert on my last car and now the Rain Sport on my present one, excellent grip and wet weather tyres also good wear, their website states that they are a brand of Continental tyres.0

Don't get Kenda Komet budget tyres. Not unless you like going sideways round roundabouts when wet.I didn't choose these tyres, garage but them on after an MOT once. I was glad when I got rid of them.1

No they don't do rainsport 3 for my car but I've ordered two uniroyal rainexpert 3 but I don't know if to order another two for the back or put another brand on as I read they wear fast.Just_a_person said:
