I'm looking to buy 4 car tyres but I don't want to pay over £65 a tyre so how do I know what to buy that will be good in the wet.

What car and tyre size?

My car failed its MOT on two tyres last week (I don't need flamed again) and getting tyres fitted quickly and at all was the issue so it was either Maxxis or Falken went for the Falken as it was take it or leave it.
You might end up in the same boat so be careful not to get too choosy at this time.

Of those, I'd be going for the £56 Toyo, £59 Avon or £65 Uniroyal.
If wet is the priority, the Uniroyals.1 -
I buy the best tyres I can afford.0

Have a look on RAC tyres; they have the wet grip rating for each tyre they sell. As previously said Toyo are good and RAC do those.

Well I bought the best I could have 2 punctures later over 3 years, and both scrapped I am not impressed!0

I've used tyre shopper in the past and got some good deals.
You also get tyre reviews from users to give you an idea of the performance you can get from them.

Also go via Quidco or Topcashback to see if you can get extra cashback.0 -

What were they, and why were they scrapped.? Generally tyres are scrapped because of accidental damage. The best and most expensive tyres are not immune from that.Well I bought the best I could have 2 punctures later over 3 years, and both scrapped I am not impressed!

I look at the ratings, reviews and try to find quality brands which are less well known. I have been getting Avon ZV7s recently. Previous to that Kumho. Hankook are good too. There are some awful tyres at the bottom end that you need to avoid.0
