minorman said:I don't know what is going on to be sure. Fortunately Mrs. M is back home and hopefully recovering (she says it's safer here). I have sorted out all her card and bank statements. FOCL says it refunded at the end of March but no sign of the refund on any statements so far up until April 3rd but the banks might have slipped it on to the next month so waiting for the latest statements. We live in hope.
That seems incredibly quick, given other posters' experiences.
When & how did FOCL tell you it had refunded at the end of March?.

UPDATE
Refund claimed 21st March
Deposit refunded to husband's current account 5th May (original payment card had expired)
Balance (over £5k) appeared in my Barclaycard Cashback transaction late last night 11th, credited 5th. I've asked for it to be sent to my current account.
FOCL have now changed their refund process. Initially they would only refund to original payment card. Now they will pay to a nominated bank account. Don't know whether this will speed things up or not, but at least they are making refunds eventually.1 -
Yes, thanks for the info. We have now checked all our bank and card statements for the last 3 months and we can not find any refund other than the £140 for car parking etc that we paid out and lost. I will have another go at approaching them to find out where the money was sent to.0

One of TUI disgruntled clients unable to get a cash refund, contact them or get them to answer emails or letters. Made claims to my insurance company and credit card company, but find myself in a merry-go-round with each of them suggesting I contact the other two. TSB travel insurance already rejected my claim, Tesco Bank giving automated advice. The TUI holiday was a Marella Cruise, we are both aged over 70 with no prospect of rebooking in the foreseeable future. Why can't TUI be MADE to issue refunds.0

I think they are legally supposed to refund by two weeks if requested although I have heard that all the travel companies might be trying to get this law overturned to save themselves from going down. Like a lot of things in life, when there is a problem, somebody has to take the hit and then the company, bank, government etc. moves on as if nothing has happened. Travel insurance ? ? ? Seems a waste of time to me now as mine did not want to know.

Anyone else having difficulty getting a refund from Iglu cruise? Has anyone who was in the P & O Northern Lights cruise in March which got cancelled after 2 days actually received the full refund we were promised while on board (in writing)? If you did, how long did it take?0

I’m finding Iglu a nightmare. Waiting for a refund since 14 March. Fred Olsen have told me they’ve not even been asked for my refund. Iglu don’t answer emails and don’t return calls when they promise to. Have reported them to the Competition & Markets Authority as behaving unfairly.1

Badger, delighted to learn you've got your money back! I'm trying to work out what is actually happening in FO Towers (or should that be FOulty Towers). My understanding is your cruise was supposed to be 29th March, you submitted a claim 21st March, got a refund invoice 9th April and payment 9th May. My cruise was 24th April, I claimed 16th March, refund invoice 16th April and still waiting. From this it looks like the pecking order is cruise date with settlement a month after refund invoice. My theory will be proved if I get my money back in the next 7 days so watch this space!
