Potentially pulling the target back from the brink here...
Big spends today. £25.69 in Li*l , Click&Collect will be £68.74 once I've dealt with the failed sub and deduct the couple of non-food bits we added in. Then also went to Mr S (first time I've left the house in a fortnight) spending another £11.90
This makes my total £426.26/£450
Currently we have our next C&C order on the 30th...I'm tempted to push it back to the 1st, partially as the list is currently quite small given I topped up in today and partially because then it will count towards June not May!6 -
Good morning everyone.
We are “on holiday” this week. (We were meant to be in Normandy.) Both our employers are insisting that people take part of their leave before the end of June, so we couldn’t save it for later. To be honest, I’m glad I had a few days doing nothing. Highlights of my holiday include a trip to Costco to buy a pizza, foil, tissues and a slab of sea trout (£54.95 from the Bulk Fund) and a trip to the butcher to buy another huge leg of lamb (5.5lb), some chicken fillets, chicken thighs and two chump chops (£48.88 spent from the Meat Fund).
We haven’t been near Costco since the Mad-Panic-Buying-Season in March, when they didn’t have toilet paper, tissues, pasta or many other things. (That was the first time we attempted to buy foil.) This time, they were fully stocked. We queued for about 10 minutes and were heading home within 30 minutes of parking up.
Thursday night, we had a takeaway Curry. This is the first one we’ve had during Lockdown, probably the first since February. (I know we had one for Valentine’s Day, from the same place.). Deciding we needed cider to accompany it, DH popped to A$da. He paid for the cider but, while he was there, he picked up eggs and a packet of their recycled toilet paper. £3.11 spent. (If the recycled toilet paper is any good, we’ll buy more. We only use recycled toilet paper and MrT no longer has any in stock.)
The above brings our spend for May to £133.24/£123.60, which makes us £9.64 overspent so far in May.

I went to Tesco yesterday, food shopping makes me anxious now, something I’ve never suffered with before. Spent £40.86! Should see us through to payday apart from milk and bread from the corner shop (a much friendlier shopping experience). Cycled to Tesco in horrific wind today. I was going to try and go to Lidl but it would have meant cycling 5 miles home against the wind with a full trailer of groceries, which sounded like the worst idea in the world.
Spend 49.04, which was more than I wanted to, but we did need toilet cleaner and washing powder. Rounded up to 50, so the final total for May is 167/180next month I think I'm going to aim for 160

Not doing well on the planning front so far this week - OH has had a bad couple of days and I've been distracted cheering him up
Another slightly-better-planned shop today ($114.07) after a small one yesterday ($58.63). Hopefully that should see us through! I'm planning to count next weekend as June but will see how we go before declaring.

i am approx $100 over budget this month. *sigh* and have thrown away a LOT of fresh veg because we stocked up and then didn't eat it. I'm most distressed about that.6

Well, I've just gone over budget, having spent approx £50 at the market on Friday & another £50 on an unscheduled L!dls run mid-week, & there'll be more before payday on Friday. Hopefully not much, but definitely a bit on bread & bananas. Not a disastrous over-spend, as there have been so many sudden price-hikes, but I'm not best pleased with myself - could probably have done better! Off to work out a target for June, now, allowing for those price rises, the fact I'll need to buy some more flour, and it's a 5-week month...Angie - GC Aug25: £106.61/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)4
