We can't keep up with free to air.

Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

(Pity they are mangled by this autocorrect!)
  • We have Netflix and amazon, as well as virgin media.  My favourite is netflix.  Can always find something to watch when I am on my own.  My only problem is finding something that me and husband both want to see, as we have different tastes

I use Netflix more than Amazon Prime Video or Virgin Media and so do the kids, although we do watch enough on Amazon and VM to justify the cost of those too.  For a family of two adults and two children, we have the £8.99 subscription so we can watch two separate things at a time.  I don't think we've ever needed more.  You could start with the cheapest option to try for a month and only upgrade if you find it necessary and worth the cost.

Britbox is good if you like Doctor Who. Pity it doesnt have an alphabetical index showing whats on there. All you can do is search for a programme and you find it is or is not there. A full listing of what is on there is sadly lacking.

One word of warning, if you have had Netfix before you cannot re-use the free trial but will be "upgraded" to Ultra HD for first month for free - but what they actually do is upgrade your DD but not charge for the first month so remember to go in your account and manually change it back to STD or you will be charged £11.99 for second month.

Also netflix is an email base subscription service, so unscrupulous persons could in theory just keep getting new accounts every month :)

I think a lot of people were just setting up a new email and card every month back when they used to offer free trials, definitely less of an incentive to do that now though.
