  • I think I’ll just buy some spread and see. To be honest a lot of the jars and sauces i don’t remember the last time I used. Gave me a chance to deep clean the fridge though 😂

i don’t want to upset the vets but kind of feel they must have charged me wrong as i don’t understand how the price doubled just to write a paper prescription. I’ll phone around and try different pharmacies for his next prescription, might even be worth the hour drive to go to my friends pharmacy if they charge £9!

i guess the accountant will know to put his fee in my return then, if it just means I pay him instead of tax on that amount then I may as well use him. I don’t want to get it wrong.

My storage heaters seem to have broken in the power cut in that when the power came on they were charging during the day rate time and I don’t know if thats something I can fix. I had to turn them off in the end as the electric was rolling cost just looking at it using the day rate!

I did actually do a 10k my phone just cheated me due to bad gps coverage 😂
  • Check your timer as power cuts are notorious for messing them up. Aside from that ask in the DIY or energy sections.

  • I hope you can get the vet prescription reduced and get a partial refund. I’ve never had storage heaters but Hope you can sort them too

  • I’m so upset lately, I’m stressed with work and don’t know what I want to do with my life but I’m finding life so mundane lately just work work work. I don’t have anything to look forward to or anyone to have my back.my savings progress feels too slow and I’ll never save everything for what I want at this rate but my savings rate will only get worse with all the cost rises coming

    just makes me so sad.

I dropped my car to the mechanic tonight for my mot and service and I know it needs work as it’s had a light on for nearly a year I was ignoring

got some new ideas on how to help the old dog on his phobia so hopefully that works

  • You're putting a lot of pressure on yourself which in turn doesn't allow you to see different ways of dealing with things.
Tackle one thing, keep adapting it and when nailed move on to the next.

  • Hi ForestBluebells - what a pretty name.

I have been having a read through bits of your diary. It’s seems to be a busy time for you, as MovingForawards says, one day at a time. That advice has always got me through. You are doing great!

I really hope things get better soon. I remember feeling like there was nothing to look forward to a few years ago when I was in a similar position with my work and personal life. It's surprising how quickly things can change, but you can never seem to rush it.
  • What did you do to make the change for the better?
  • I make small changes due to living to save and better my life, simple things like going for a coffee and not feeling guilty about spending £5 instead of saving it, buying nice bread / food and not always budget ranges.

While it may take longer to get to my overall savings, I'm doing less mental torture, less pressure on me.

You're focusing on the end goal, not seeing the steps to reach it and missing out on the fun side of life.

  • Had car trouble’s as my wing mirror is broken since the mechanic had it and I hadn’t realised till I tried to drive to my canicross club so couldn’t go :( that’s my only human contact/fun for the week ruined this week now. He’s coming over to look at it today so hopefully he can easily fix it as I need to go get petrol so he can take my car next week for all the repairs needed :( going to be expensive but I’ve said don’t skimp just replace what needs doing, i want it safe.

Will take my younger dog on a nice long walk once the mechanic has been so we can enjoy the sun together

Hopefully can replace my car next year but car prices are high right now, ideally id like an electric car but none available are really suitable right now as I don’t need back seats I just want a big flat boot for the dogs. I like one coming out in 2023 I think so maybe I’ll get that after a few years as I don’t think new is sensible either

booked my old dog back in the vet Monday for additional pain killers as I think he’s suffering so hopefully that will make him more comfortable. New training has made him happier last few days and he’s going in the garden more freely (although there’s shooting today!) still no walks though but he went on lead in my front garden last night which is good. He’s not eating properly at the moment and I’m not sure if that’s due to pain, I got him his favourite food but he refuses it mostly. Will see what the vet says Monday.

Did some online market research for $145 for 45 mins zoom call so will pop that in my pension when it arrives.

bought a tonne of self improvement books so hopefully I can help myself find a way forward too. I don’t want 15years of… this. Currently reading “you are a badass” it’s a bit more religious than I was expecting from the title though and seems to suggest you need to find god to succeed
