Why does it matter? Contactless doesn't always work anyway, if it doesn't just use chip and pin, job done!
More often than not does work.
I enjoy using technology, in addition to non scratched left at home debit cards.
Each card logo via mobile, makes me happy.

I think the idea is avoid touching anything many other people might have touched, such as the pin pad.

In terms of Tesco they haven't increased their limit to £45 yet because they don't want to update the different systems they've got in place for it to go wrong and inconvenience customers and colleagues given the current situation.
As someone's mentioned previously there is the Pay+ app which can be used up to £250 in the mean time.
Sainsbury's accept Apple/Google Pay over £30 if you have a card set up on your phone.

It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.

Don't know why they didn't just make a nice round, easy to remember, 50 quid.
Under PSD2 (with which we're still aligned) the EU limit is a nice round, easy to remember, €50, so I believe the £45 has been set to approximate to that....

    From a numerology website....

"The deep down basic essence of the numerology number 45 is humanitarianism, a results-focused and real concern for the welfare of humanity."

Predumably that's why they set it to that amount.

Aldi on Saturday- OH’s Barclaycard, did contactless for £43. I tend to pay by Apple Pay if I’m paying by debit card though so not tried it anywhere else yet.
