I think I may have had an email from Tesco last week saying they had "listened" to their customers and were not applying the one-way system in the future. I'm sure that's because we often want to go back in our journey through a supermarket for whatever reason (eg not finding one item and going back in the aisle to pick up a replacement or remembering something one had wanted but not put on a list).1 -
I've not come across a queue in my local Sainsbury's for the last month - it's far better than before Covid-19! As for my local Tesco Superstore - SO glad to see they've got rid of those annoying arrows. Only go there for my weekly wine fix.... in and out in 10 minutes.

Also my mum has noticed since the one way route at Asda, more food being dumped.1 -
Good tip is to go to supermarkets really early, they are opening now 6am. Bear in mind, people who are not working or still furlonged will still be in bed that early, people going to work will be getting ready for work; so the supermarkets are quiet 6-8am however after that will be busy. So, good time to shop is early in the day (or for that matter after 7pm when people are home from work and want to just eat and watch TV).0

Agree with Bacman about going late in the evening, as said about 7 pm, especially on Saturday when (I guess) people are having a Saturday night out but in (if you see what I mean!)Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!0

One time not to go is Sunday mornings between 10-11am. My friend who works for a supermarket and say there's at least 30 customers queuing at both entrances (store has a underground car park with lift access as well as street entrance). The colleagues operate walkie talkies to see how many customers they have at each entrance0

Go early or late but yesterday in the afternoon about 1pm there was hardly any queuing.

Maybe that's because the limit on customers has been increased.
