It will be interesting to see what it is like when it is raining, maybe be best time to go as no one will want to be standing out in the rain, so you might find some very short queues, if at all.

Well, it is raining now and probably tomorrow too. Probably a good time to go shopping (take a brolley though!)

When was the last time you saw a delivery driver wear a mask after all?

Can you hire SCUBA gear. You can't be too careful."Life is much/far too important a thing ever to talk seriously about it." Oscar Wilde, in "Vera; or, The Nihilists” (much), then "Lady Windermere's Fan" (far).2

Look up the shop in Google maps, scroll down and busy or quiet times are shown along with a column for live waiting times.

There's an Aldi about 15 min walk from me and the queue is huge. Last week, I drove to another Aldi and the queue was only 8 in front of me. Maybe people need to drive to another store.
Earlier this week, I went to Sainsburys late morning and it took me 27 mins to queue. When I returned to the car, the queue was reduced by a third0 -
Aldi round here is very busy - very long queues - so I am avoiding that shop at the mo. Morrisons, I know someone who stood for an hour last week
Asda was very organised I thought, one in one out, and I stood about fifteen minutes. Cant complain at all really
I don't think there is any avoiding it however I see the supermarkets are now extending their opening hours so I would happily go at 8pm next time and see if that makes a differenceWith love, POSR0 -
I'm planning a little experiment. There are a few things we now need, which are only available at one shop, who don't do home delivery and, even if they did, wouldn't deliver just one or two items. The next time that it's raining heavily, I'll put on my waterproof jacket that I use for walking the dog in such weather, and we'll hit the road. If my Baldrick cunning plan works, no-one in their right mind and/or less or similarly equipped will even want to queue in such weather. I'll let you know what happens.

Problem is you have no idea how long you are going to queue for. You may join the queue at roughly the same place the next time you shop at the store, but it depends how big the shopping transactions are for the customers inside the store. If the shop has every customer spending £30 its going to be quicker than every customer spending £60.0
