As others have said, I suspect they're not allowed to take money. If you want to show your appreciation I suggest you either showing it verbally or write them a little note / card.

Wow! Eleven replies but not one answer!
And the 25% bonus he'll be getting in june seems like a fair recognition of his "dangerous" job.
A 25% bonus of a fairly low salary is not a huge amount. Besides, it is my money, can I not give to whom I like?
Don’t think they’re allowed to take tips anyway.
Can't see anything that says this anywhere, in particular the Asda website. Can you elaborate? You don't think they can, or you know they can't?
Because it's not anyone but the company they work for who are and should be responsible for them getting a good wage.
Should be, yes. But are they? And again, it is my money, and I can do with it what I want.
Because everybody should be paid a decent wage for their work and they shouldn’t have to depend on the mood/generosity of customers. Also, I find it mega awkward and it’s really inconsistent that some jobs attract tips while loads of others that are harder or lower paid don’t.
There is of course an important debate we could have about the merits or otherwise of tipping. But not here. I have already decided that I want to tip, and am merely asking if anyone has any ideas about the mechanics of doing so.
Don't.
Only three people can tell me what to do in such a peremptory tone. God, my mother, and my wife. God doesn't exist, my mother is dead, and you aren't my wife.
if you have some spare cash I am sure any decent person would prefer you donate it to a food bank right now
How do you know that I don't? Again, it is my cash, and I'll do with it what I want.

If you could tell me how to show my appreciation via a card, I would appreciate it. Because this is effectively my original question. How do I safely get a small piece of plasticised paper to the driver, safely.3 -
What makes you think people will want to respond to you after a post like that?4

Delivery driver here, for one of the big ones.
The simple answer is you can still give a tip if you wish to and the driver will likely accept it and give it a clean before he puts it in their wallet. Leave it on the doorstep for them weighted down if needed so you can still maintain distance. They will also be very grateful, I know I would be. Also consider getting in touch through the stores feedback service, make sure to mention the driver by name if you can because usually they have a customer service award system in place that will benefit the driver in some way.
On another note, I cannot believe some of the responses on here. I've been to the US, I know tip culture is awful over there, but there is nothing wrong with showing appreciation, especially at a time like this, and shaming someone for daring to give a tip is a disgusting attitude to have. Services like this are not straight forward jobs, one street might be accessible and easy to park on, but not all of them are. And trust me it's the people who've ordered 400kg of shopping to a second floor flat with no parking close by that are the most ungrateful.

On behalf of the UK, thankyou for what you and your colleagues are doing. I will leave a tip in the way you suggested.
I won't be bothering to come back to this thread, or probably this forum, as it seems to be full of keyboard warriors who need to get back under their bridges.1 -
Not all of us
I thought it was a really nice gesture on your part and credit to you for considering it.
Not everyone understands the analogy 'We're all in it together'

You don't always have to show your appreciation with money. There are other ways.
Perhaps you could answer the door naked and make their day memorable that way.0
