Tipping delivery drivers

My wife is classified as vulnerable and has obtained an online shopping slot at Asda through their/the government coronavirus scheme. We would like to tip the delivery driver, recognising that he/she has a difficult and (in these times) dangerous job. But how? We are told to avoid cash, and presumably he/she does not carry a card reader for such uses (and in any case it would be difficult to use whilst keeping 2 metres away). If we use cash, perhaps washing the notes and placing them in something like a plastic sandwich bag to leave out for them to pick up, what do we do when we run out of cash? These days, like most people, we tended to do most shopping using cards, and don't keep a large amount of cash to hand. Any ideas?

theyre not going to take your money. just accept that people are not reliant on tips in the UK and the driver will do just fine without it.
And the 25% bonus he'll be getting in june seems like a fair recognition of his "dangerous" job.1 -
Don’t think they’re allowed to take tips anyway. It might be nice if this kills off the last remnants of tipping culture.4

Would you tip the cashier in the supermarket of you went there? The person is getting paid for doing their job which is delivering goods. It isnt fighting in the trenches. No need to tip. Just keep ordering food so the demand is high and they keep getting plenty of work while others get f.a.3

Drivers are getting wages and genuinely are at less risk than many key workers (no disrespect to delivery drivers), if you have some spare cash I am sure any decent person would prefer you donate it to a food bank right nowAn answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......3
