  • Thanks for the advice,
I'll not be investing with them now.
Did sound too good to be true
  • Help - I know this forum post is quite old but thought some of you might still read it so have posted here before creating a new post. I do voluntary work for an old people's charity and one of the customers I was shopping for who knows I used to work in Financial Services asked me for some advice. In short this 70+ year old has been considering making 2 investments, one of which is into an ISA. He received the attached letter from a company called 3B investments. Now I'm, not a financial adviser by any stretch ( I do hold the old FPC3) but the letter is recommending a Hamilton Rose ISA (FCA 650305) which claim to offer " a Low Risk Option giving 100% capital protection and a net return of 5.1% per annum". This looked far too good to be true so I took the info away and did some research and now have some real concerns. This is not the only thing the pensioner was trying to invest in, I have stopped him sending a cheque for £10K to someone else too!
Can anyone advise how I should move forwards with this as 3B investments (who are not authorised or regulated) should clearly not be writing letters like this. I have tried to attach a picture but not sure if i am allowed as I am a Newbie.
    Thanks for reading,

    Thanks for reading,
It's still a scam. Advise your client to change his phone number and email address as he is on a suckers list. Does he have Lasting Power of Attorney in place?
He should also contact his bank and inform them that he is susceptible to scams and they should put a vulnerable client policy in place. (As he was on the verge of losing ten grand.)
You can report it to Action Fraud but don't expect to hear anything further from them.

I've been offered a fixed rate 5 year isa with returns of 5% p.a. by a company called Hamilton Rose
Any advice or has anyone had any dealings with this company
I think it sounds too good to be true, although they are Fca registered
    Hey!
My dad did invest with them, turned out to be too good to be true, he got scammed and lost a lot of money!
Not sure if you’re still a member here, but I am trying to gather evidence against them. I would love to talk to you somehow!
