Mercedes car finance.

In the current situation re covid. I cannot pay my Mercedes benz finance. I have applied for a payment holiday but like everyone else our pleas are being ignored. Surely in the circumstances missed payments can be allowed.

When you say ignored. Just what do you mean?
They have not answered your query, or they have said no.

Remember these companies face exactly the same problems as many others. A severe shortage of staff. So replies may take a while and they may also be looking for guidance from higher up the chain.

Same for me mate, been about 2 weeks now with no response. Even when I call them, they say you just have to wait for their email reply. Disgusting behaviour.

Have you been furloughed or made unemployed because of CV-19 and have documented evidence of that?

Also, i dont think they are under any obligation to grant a payment holiday because of CV-19.

    What makes it disgusting?
They must be inundated with these requests.  Their workforce will be decimated by the virus.  They will also be waiting on a decision further up the food chain.  This doesn't make the delay in responding disgusting.
Decimated? Sounds a bit much. Remember the number of cases are published.

One in ten of the workforce having to stay at home? Doesn't sound too far-fetched.

Give their staff for this will be call centre based, they'll be particularly hard hit.
    • They may have vast swathes of the workforce either having to self isolate or chosing not to come in.
    • If they have been able to remain open, they will be forced to implement social distancing which will mean they'll only be able to have a 50% occupancy at best.
    • Not all computer systems are able to be used from home, so that in itself will cause problems.
    • Anyone who is able to work from home will usually need their work computer, screen(s), keyboard, mouse set up at home for them - that takes time to do, possibly months to do across a large organisation.
    • It wont be possible - or will be very difficult - to onboard and train people at this time to replace staff who have left or are self isolating
So in terms of capability, "decimated" sounds about right, yes.
