Well this is interesting. My partner did this and received a cheque from HMRC a week later. I did it back in September and heard nothing. Did it again in December, today I've had a letter through from HMRC with a UTR number, no cheque.0

What exactly did your partner do? The cheque may just be coincidence.

Hi, My workplace is closed due to Covid 19 so i have to work from home. My bills are fixed but my workplace provide all meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner)but of course is now not available. Therefore can I still claim the WFH tax relief due to that reason as there is an increase in food cost.0

My husband used to be both employed and self employed, but earnt less than the £1000 limit, so didn't need to submit a tax return. When we've tried to claim his working from home rebate the new system said he'd have to include it on his tax return. Should we just submit one with the working at home rebate on it?0

I'm really confused as to what I can claim back and how I should do it (sorry)
So my employer started to pay a working from home allowance in October last year of £18/month
As I understand it I claim for "using your home as an office" and declare that it has cost £312. so where it states amount paid by my employer I'm guessing I should put in £18 per month to the end of March 2021? so £108 would that be correct?0 -
I'm just going through submitting the online form at the moment (because I've been working from home since 2019 and didn't know this was an available tax relief) I've inputted the £312 advised by Martin but when I get to the end (having not inputted any other expenses) it's saying:
Total expenses for the selected year and employment:£ 372
I'm not sure what to do? I don't want to get into trouble for trying to claim more but I haven't submitted any figure of £372 or even an extra £50 anywhere. I only inputted the £312.0 -
I must be the only person in Britain to be completely confused by this gov.uk online form.
I get as far as the 'Do you want to pay a flat rate deduction' page. My industry (IT/web design) isn't in the list of options, and when I enter it manually, I see a bit saying "Maximum claim for this industry: £60". I thought you could claim for a flat £6/week, ie more than £60?
I thought that would then be the end of the form but it goes on to ask me lots of specific questions about what I'm claiming relief for (company car, etc).
An I doing something wrong?
