Universal credit and housing benefit

I had a conversation over the phone with soemone from my housing assoc about paying rent during the covid lockdown, I explained I had claimed UC and they said that I wouldn't be able to go back onto housing benefit afterwards, the conversation moved on before I could ask why, does anyone know?

As poppy says - it depends. Will be a lot easier if they have obtained Settled status.
