Joedenise - just love your idea of using potato flakes to crumb chicken! Have you ever used them for fish? OH constantly fancies a fish finger butty - we always have fish in the freezer but not fish fingers.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! No @rtandon27 I haven't tried them for fish fingers but can't see any reason why it wouldn't work. My DH likes fish fingers so I usually keep a pack in the freezer for when he fancies a fish finger sandwich, personally I can't stand them but love fish. Think it might be those bright orange breadcrumbs that put me off!

In an effort to start using up assorted storecupboard packs of sauces and flavourings, tonight we will be having mac & cheese with kale greens using up a sw@rtz package! On Monday I managed to use up a package of instant Turkey gravy for our cobbled together Thanksgiving meal
- it was surprisingly nice! Two packs down & at least a dozen to go...why-o-why did I ever think these instant packages were a good idea? (Must have been that 5 for a pound price tag!)

I got a stick of sausage-meat out of the freezer and made improvised toad in the hole, only for DS to declare he prefers it and would have like seconds to take home! After months of him slimming down I was pleased at this - I estimate he is under 13 stone (less than 82k) and is 6'4"+ (1.94m) and had taken to leaving food on the plate (!). I bought a small chicken yesterday and am hoping it does 3-4 meals for us. We will start with it roasted this eveningSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

That reminds me @Suffolk_lass when my kids were little the only way I could get them to eat sweet and sour was to use sausagement made into meatballs! They wouldn't eat it made with pork!
Might have to do that again but I'd use my good quality sausages rather than sausage meat!

SL I have to confess that I too recently told the OH I preferred toad-in-hole with homemade mince balls rather than sausages. He just can't fathom why I prefer just about anything made with mince while he'd rather have a 'nice bit of meat'4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! I was going to cook the chicken I bought, but in the end I filled a couple of yellow peppers (split in half) with leftover bolognese sauce and topped with grated cheese from the freezer and baked them. We had then with a really simple side salad. Chicken will be tomorrow now as we are out this eveningSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Mmmmmm - mince stuffed peppers - another of my favorite meals
We had a use it up lunch to finish off bits of this and that lurking in the fridge from various meals this week - still a bit of turkey left from Monday, may have to bung it in an omelette tomorrow morning! - I've had enough of turkey wraps!
Tonight's dinner was supposed to be pizza - but it seems we don't have any in the freezer, we thought oven nachos might be an option, but all the cheese has been eaten...
...this may take some thought & creativity to produce a dinner 😂4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Chicken last night, roasted and devoured with steamed veg - carrots, spring greens and the remains of the broccoli. Then we shared a punnet of 95p wonky strawberries with cream - what an absolute treat! Today will be chicken in some form I think - probably curried but I might make a pie. I don't have much room in the kitchen at the moment because I am painting wall cupboard doors on two worktops and the third has all the bits for the new extractor hanging out. It might be the remnants of that pasta sauce - I reckon I can stretch it with either courgette slices or macaroni and a bit of cheese sauce as a kind of lasagne or pasticcio.
rtandon27 if you haven't made your omelette yet what about grating a potato, adding some onion and spices and making a frittata with the turkey and eggs?Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

We had the remnants of the pasta sauce with macaroni and then just covered in very cheesy cheese sauce. It was so yummy and we have got it again today as we only eat half.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
