I've managed to get 3 good sized 2 person portions of beef casserole into the freezer. We're definitely going to have homity pie! It's sitting on the side ready to put into the oven any time now ready for dinner about 6pm! Really looking forward to it.

Can’t remember if I posted this but I used a lot of the random fridge veg in a tomato sauce the other night. Added puy lentils and herbs to one half to make veg lasagne sauce and added beans and spices to the other for a mild (kid friendly) veggie chilli. Had the lasagne tonight and it was really lovely, DH even complimented it and he really prefers meat lasagne. Had it with salad from the garden 😊Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

I definitely should have planned my meals around the weather, I wouldn't have used the oven! Doing one of my favourite kinds of meals tonight, a one pot dish. Chicken thighs, sweet potato, peppers, red onions and cherry tomatoes with balsamic vinegar, yum. Leftover homemade brownies for dessertMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

We had the homity pie last night with beans! DH wasn't overly keen and said it tasted a bit like bubble & squeak, LOL! Thought it could have done with some sausages or something with it to make it a "proper" meal!

gwynlas said:Another very simple recipe for potato, cheese and onion pie is to boil potato and sliced onion together and mash in the usual way before adding in grated cheese. Pile in ovenproof dish and bake until browned or if serving straight away simply brown under grill. Using chopped onion raw will add tecture. Comfort food with baked beans.

Using a half pack of frozen lamb mince today to make doner kebabs for lunch! Will also use pitta breads from freezer, salad leaves from garden, tomatoes, cucumber from fridge.
Tonight dinner will also mainly be from freezer and garden - tuna steak, HM garlic & herb wedges, peas & courgettes from garden.8 -
Had the middle out of the only romaine lettuce that germinated (I hope I left enough for it to regrow) - plenty of little gems and so many weeds in with them! - we had the lettuce with eggs and the remains of any salad-type stuff lurking. I will need to cook the aubergines tonight or they will be good for nothing.
