We had a bag of potatoes too but about half of them weren't usable and had to be composted. There's still enough for a couple of meals though so not all bad.
We also had some fruit: satsumas (one binned, 4 very soft); 4 lemons (one binned) rest will be sliced and frozen; box of blueberries, bunch of bananas (kept a couple out to ripen properly as a bit green rest sliced and frozen for banana ice cream, yum).
There was also a pack of 6 large burger buns which have also been frozen. Not much room left now!

That's a great haul @joedenise. I really like that Morries are usually F&V bags. I don't need any at the moment though. I do need butter, and the question is, do I capitulate and get £35 of shopping to get 5p off a litre of fuel, or just go local and buy the slightly pricier butter!
edit to add; I have done neither. I freezer dived and found salted butter. So no shopping for me. I had already pulled out a chicken that I will slow-roast overnight in the slow cooker after cooking a small rack of pork ribs that we will have with the 'returned' damaged potatoes (mashed) and some buttered leeks and leftover cauliflowerSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

The ribs were great - really simple sauce of ketchup, tabasco, Worcester' sauce, vinegar and water to give them a wet mix to slow roast in. I cut them into 3 bone pieces and we each had 2 mini racks. With buttered leeks, mash and cauliflower. Then yoghurt with a dollop of strawberry jam for some cheats strawberry yoghurt for dessert, while we watched all the Eurovision acts. We called it right for 1 and 2 and got 3 & 4 back to front. Great fun, but I went to bed during the votingSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Glad the chorizo idea gave people some inspiration - and yep, I often do the same thing with bacon too, or indeed cooked sausages - two of those sliced up easily stretches to pasta bake for both of us!
I seem to have done lots of using up of odds and ends from the freezer this weekend. I needed a dinner for just me on Friday as MrEH was out - the weather was grim so no temptation to go out for anything so I did a freezer dive and found the last of a pack of small flatbreads in there, plus part of a ball or mozzarella and a cooked sausage... topped the bread with a mix of ketchup and tomato puree, added the sausage and mozzarella and hey presto, instant pizza. Also had a bowl of cheesy chips alongside for added treatiness. Saturday we needed a super-quick lunch so pittas (freezer) filled with cheese and "toasted" on a hot frying pan. Yesterday saw the freezer being raised again for leftover sliced lamb to make a cheaty roast dinner - roast tatties and parsnips, and the last of the veg box purple sprouting broccoli all also ticked the "needs using up" box.

Leftover lamb from yesterday will be turned into a lamb dhansak for dinner tonight, will be served with a box of turmeric rice from the freezer.
Leftover mushroom stroganoff will be added to some pasta for lunch tomorrow. May need to add a bit more stock as the sauce is a bit thick.

Veg box day tomorrow, so used up the last of a box of mushrooms, half a yellow pepper, one leek and a few bits of salami to make a pasta bake tonight. The small cauliflower got eaten at Friday lunchtime alongside the leftover sausage casserole, I’ve now got a broccoli and another leek to use up - possibly a gratin alongside some griddled chicken tomorrow.Books read 2023 - 49/754

Cold chicken salad with a very well baked jacket potato for supper. We had soup and a bag of crisps for lunch. All a bit haphazard and make do as we are in the midst of our bee seasonSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

There's some LO lamb dhansak so I'll be having that with a jacket potato for lunch. DH wasn't overseen so he can decide what to have on his jacket - he'll probably have beans and cheese and then I'll need to use up the rest of the tin of beans!5
