That's more or less what we do too we have some big plastic foldable crates which we put out under the car port, the delivery comes in plastic carrier bags, the driver carries the bags into the car port and puts them down then bangs on the door so we know they're there and goes back to his van as we open the door to bring things in. We sort the bags into plastic, card, glass, tins etc. and put them into the crates. We put everything that needs fridgeing through a soapy water bath with disinfectant in too and then through a bleach bath and then down onto paper on the floor to dry before putting into the fridge, frozen just goes straight into the freezer, plastics as long as they are non perishable content like rice/pasta get dunked in the bleach and then all of it including glass and cardboard goes on a tarpaulin in the store room for a minimum of 3 days before it's sorted out. We wear waterproof gloves the whole time.5

It’s exhausting, isn’t it?
Has to be done, though, if only for peace of mind.
Just had a look at a map of Covid deaths by postcode, and there have been 13 within easy walking distance of me.
13 deaths means loads more people are infected but recovering or asymptomatic, so it is out there all right.(I just lurve spiders!)

My anxieties have gone through the roof last few weeks/days. I know I need more meds but can't face the phone calls and the surgery to get them. Ironically if I was working still I'd be making those phone calls on behalf of others and think nothing of it.....today's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

Please ring the surgery and ask for more meds.....the pharmacies round here are happy to deliver. I think they are aware of the heightened anxiety everyone is experiencing, take care of yourself.cornishchick said:thank you, Pyxis and MrsLW

We are lucky enough to have a volunteer group in the village that set itself up for those of us on lock down for health reasons who collect and deliver meds from the pharmacy to the front door. The first time we rang which was about 4 weeks in to lockdown not only did they instantly say 'of course we can get your meds and deliver them' but also 'are you Ok for food and everything else? can we do anything else for you?' which is such a morale boost at such a difficult time. There may be something similar where you live if you look on facebook or the village website.7

Isn't it? I feel the same when I get a call from neighbours making sure I'm ok and reminding me to tell them if I need anything. Even the supermarket delivery driver who put bags next to my front door asked if I could manage - I said yes, I'll take it slowly but I wonder if he would have put things inside my door for me if I'd asked. Just the enquiry made me feel good though.MrsLurcherwalker said:We are lucky enough to have a volunteer group in the village that set itself up for those of us on lock down for health reasons who collect and deliver meds from the pharmacy to the front door. "On my forage at Sainsb's I got some 5% mince and some stewing steak, which I'm putting into the slow cooker shortly. It reminded me of my mother's prep for stews. She used to take out the kitchen scissors and cut the chunks of meat into smaller pieces. It made it go a lot farther and everybody got a 'bigger' share of chunks. Does anybody else remember this - or anything similar?"
That made me chuckle after years of struggle while we were paying off the mortgage
I still do it !

Good tip BB, yes I remember my mum doing that and the absolutely gruesome dish she made in the top of a double saucepan with chunks of steak and kidney and what amounted to a sponge cake mix without the sugar on top for the pastry. The meat came out like chunks of chewy rubber because it was cooked with no liquid, the sponge just chucked on top and all steamed to within an inch of it's existence, oh many the night I sat until 10ish pushing the whole thing round the plate as a child before being severely told off and sent to bed! ah, happy days!5

I have been rather poorly over the last 18 months but I have my mojo back and have been Spring cleaning in the mornings, one room at a time, I have just hung out two pairs of curtains from the living room today, DS took them down for me and he will rehang them when they are dry.
In the afternoons I have been knitting winter jumpers using my wool stash, I am on the second one now, I think the third one will resemble Joseph's technicolour dream coat though
