Will have a go and see what happens tomorrow then. Think there's got to be a good chance my home city library (which I'm still a member of) might have access to this - so will give it a go. Nothing ventured = nothing gained.

C_J said:Condolences, Money. It’s hard enough to lose your father at the best of times, and I cannot begin to imagine how much more difficult it is during the lockdown when you can’t be with other family members for comfort and support. Sending you good wishes and a virtual hug.
I've honestly never heard of anyone that was born healthy in the first place having to put up with so much illness later in life. It was a LONG LONG time and over 30 years. It was so cruel to have to watch him suffering for so very long and know that this is way longer than happens normally - as most people go through a few years suffering or no suffering - and he had to put up with this so very long. So I'm just glad he's free of all that at long last and there is no more suffering. It was blowing my mind to see this going on for so darn long. It's not something he "deserved" - as he made mistakes (as do most of us) - but he wasn't a nasty person or a mean person or anything and really didnt deserve so much as he got.6 -
hello moneyseeker. Its worth having a look what your home library has available - you may find something of interest. I haven't had anything back from Manchester - it was worth a try. I get my ebooks from the library and also sometimes have a little browse of the emagazines. Sending you best wishes.

@MoneySeeker1 I am so sorry for your loss. My condolences. It’s hard enough losing your dad in normal times; it must be hell not being able to be there for your mum, too.

It may be worth checking if your library service subscribes to BorrowBox. You just need your library card number and your PIN.3

I love BorrowBox. They have a huge range of ebooks and e-audiobooks, including new releases. I am currently reading three, and listening to 2, all free.

Moneymaker - so sorry for your loss.
Have you looked at the BBC Sounds app? There are loads of free audio books as well as music. So far I have listened to Carrie's War, Cranford, A Christmas Carol, a few dramas 30-45 minutes long, and I'm now listening to The Railway Children. I have Call of the Wild saved next.
Hope this helps someone.2025 Fashion on the ration

My husband has had the letter about shielding. On Wednesday I contacted Te##o and was told I would be given a priority slot, it hasn't happened. As#a contacted me, the only slot available was in three weeks time. Morris##n have been superb. They have an "essential" list that you can order from and they deliver within 24 hours, a nice touch is they usually include a little gift. The number is 0345 611 6111 option 5. Apologies if this info has been posted elsewhere.7
