Wouldn't know what to spend my £2.50 on so may as well leave it running.

I thought about this. Must be a great time to be an insurance company. Everyone paying their premiums but not actually going out.0

If we had a spare car and were paying off a loan on it I'd be pretty tempted to just get rid of it if the price was decent enough.0

I was thinking about selling my car this spring, but have put that on hold figuring no-one will be looking to buy.0 -

you think that tells you about the market?0 -
Two car household here, and whilst we could make a saving by SORNing one of them, I'd rather keep both taxed and give them a run on rotation to keep batteries charged and everything moving. We have to make a trip once a week to shop and deliver supplies to two vulnerable relatives, so each car will get a fortnightly trip.0

I was thinking about selling my car this spring, but have put that on hold figuring no-one will be looking to buy.I'd expect you could justify a car purchase as essential for a key worker that needs a car, but that's not a huge market.I expect used car prices will have dropped hard at the moment, even if you can find someone to buy it.

weve got three cars. one classic which is £278 on Direct Debit per year. the other a 2.0 2005 TDI that is £160 per year.
so big saving.
i think i might start a petition to try and get VED put on fuel. then people cant avoid it by non payment or buying cars that have cheated the tests, eg Audi A5 2.0 TDI 187bhp and only £30 VED (yeah right), and its far more effective in curbing climate change as people will consider the distance they live from work etc.1
