Well, I am back here! POPLA told me I had to pay and I didnt. But today I have received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus asking for £155. They urge me to get in touch in case COVID means I am having trouble paying it. I clearly dont think I should have to pay it because the money for the parking went from my bank. What would be the advice now. Should I just continue to ignore it? Should I contact my bank for any additional evidence? Will it be any good to me if they do, as POPLA decided I cant prove it was this car park that it relates to!Coupon-mad said:

Ah, sorry, I just thought I would have to contact them because POPLA said I only have 14 days in which to pay it. Hence if I contacted them and told them I could not pay it might go in my favour. If you think not, then I wont..thanks.Umkomaas said:Where in my previous post did I advise writing to APCOA? Why on earth would you want to do that? Knowing you are out of work is likely to encourage them to ramp up further pressure on you.
Stop thinking you have to contact them, but either:
 (a) take henrik777's good advice to create a paper/email trail (and keep it for years just i case) or
 (b) ignore them unless they start a court claim (never heard of one from APCOA) in which case you'd just win it in court instead, by coming back here for further advice and not writing stuff you imagine might help (it won't).
You could have beaten this easily if you'd come here earlier and not said who the driver was...I see you've already been told that, so at least you know for next time!
Umkomaas told you in post 5 what to do when you get the inevitable debt collector trash, and DPD reiterated what to do for more information, but to make it easy; Ignore stupid debt collectors they are useless greedy sterile Muppets! POPLA are paid for by the very same idiots that are scamming you leave it where it is and listen to the regulars.

It's at times like this that I wonder why I spend so much of my personal time helping people with problems that are none of my own. Do people read the advice given? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

The OP appears to have not read the 4th post of the NEWBIES FAQS, begging posters not to take seriously, nor post about Debt Recovery Plus. If posters just read the sticky thread and referred back to it when a tediously boring 'debt collector' toothless letter arrived, it would save them a lot of anxiety.

Ok. I will ignore the letter. When I first came on here I was unaware that all the advice posts existed so that was a genuine mistake that I would hope wouldnt result in some the less than positive remarks by other posters!Coupon-mad said:The OP appears to have not read the 4th post of the NEWBIES FAQS, begging posters not to take seriously, nor post about Debt Recovery Plus. I havent considered my MP to be honest but in the meantime I have got in touch with my bank to see if they can provide any more supporting evidence. Thanks for the suggestion.D_P_Dance said:What would be the advice now.
My advice would be to read the newbies at the top of the index page. Have you complained to your MP?2
