Evening All
Today's wins:Made a white loaf (we usually bake wholemeal bread)
I had a slice of white bread with some leftover sauce from last nights dinner
paid an invoice we received yesterday, we wanted to pay promptly as this is a small business and we want them to stay afloat in these difficult times
cancelled a standing order for a service that won't be available for at least a couple of months
checked bank accounts
Home Educated the children for free
deleted some emails
'filed' some emails in the correct folders
Kept with the meal plan
checked fresh food (fridge, fruit bowl, cake tin
) to make sure nothing urgently needs using
kept in touch with friends & family using email and WhatsApp
had a brief discussion with OH about the impact to savings if this situation continues for the whole of April (we are pretty sure it will go on much longer), we think we are likely to £500+ up
very thankful to be in this position, I know many are not
When OH finished work today I was still doing a lesson with dd. OH decide to be very productive he made a batch of ice cream, prepared dinner, crumbed a crust of bread into the bread crumb box (trying to eliminate food waste) and made a pot of teawhen we finished the lesson dd scraped out the ice cream bowl and I put the dinner in the oven with a delayed start - my kind of cooking
Then me & OH went and read our books and enjoy our cuppa.

Afternoon allWe had a bit of warm sun earlier, only about half an hour, but very welcome! Still have lovely scented hyacinths out under the little fruit trees, blue, yellow and white ones, a pear tree and rosemary in bloom, and I noticed that the little alpine strawberries are also blossoming.Been watering in the garden, as it is very dry, due to what seems like weeks of cold, drying winds, after all the earlier rain. Also sowed a few more broad bean seeds in pots in the greenhouse. The ones in the garden are a bit rubbish, so though I would grow a few more to fill in the gaps.Other things:Finished off the last, blackening banana for breakfast. Hoping my Asda delivery materialises on Sunday evening as it is supposed to! Pulled the little bit of rhubarb that was ready (without depleting the plant too much), cooked in oven while it was on anyway for a lemon drizzle cake, and mixed with some defrosted HG raspberries, for breakfast fruit for the next few days.Redid freezer audit, as both the freezer bit of the fridge freezer in the kitchen, and the bigger, stand alone freezer in the conservatory are quite depleted now, and I had lost track a bit. I have an order to be collected from the butcher's tomorrow morning, so had a good tidy up and made room for that.Hoovered round downstairs, and still have ambitions to tackle the big dresser, which houses the old blue and white china that we use all the time, (plus a lot of dust at the moment).Must also put the bread maker on, as there isn't much bread. And triage the fridge.Dinner will be pesto pasta, which is quick and easy, as the pesto came out of the freezer ready made (froze lots last summer).Hope everyone is ok.6

I hope everyone is staying well and safe.
I can official declare yesterday was a write off. It started at 7am ( when poorly cat had a relapse) and bad news just kept hitting throughout the day. Gave up and went to bed early.
Today has been much more productive
*poorly cat doing much better and very happy to have her meds in ham
*went shopping in elderly and vulnerable hour ( Wales unfortunately isnt as well set up for support as England).
It was quiet and went thru self service. Just about to whip out an anti bac wipe to give the once over when they did it for me!
I was impressed, stocks were really good
* back to hitting the paperwork today, had a productive few hours
*parcel sent, RM stamps used
*need to get some housework done this weekend, havent done much
*must get my spends book up and running again this month. I think I'm going to save some money aswell.
*must stop eating. Will end up the size of 2 houses at this rate!
*donated a sewing machine to a big community group set up making masks, visors and scrubs for local hospital and care homes. I havent used it for years but it is a cracking little machine. It was planned for the charity shop so I'm glad that it is being used again for an excellent cause.
Think that's about it from me

Afternoon / evening allTake care, LPP. Thanks for working so hard for all of usNice and sunny here today, but with a cold wind which seems to have dropped now. For breakfast I had some of the fruit compote I made yesterday with a little bit of garden rhubarb and some frozen raspberries. It was lovely, and you only need a spoonful with porridge, so it will last all week I should thinkWent to the butchers as soon as they opened this morning (both of them, we are lucky to have 2, and I am determined to support local businesses where I can). Bought packs of various things from both shops, lots of variety within and between the different packs. Freezer now stocked up
Also picked up some items for DS, which he collected from the bottom of the garden just after lunch. Had a brief, distant conversation with him and his lovely GF. They are ok, which is the important thing.
All the meat is now in the freezer, luckily I had cleared out 2 drawers yesterday in preparation. Listed the new items on my freezer listUsed up the last 2 slices of a bought loaf for a lunchime sandwich, no food waste hereMade lamb shanks in red wine sauce for dinner, in the SC. I made lots of sauce in addition (needed to use up most of a bottle of red wine that has been hanging around since Christmas, I only drink some kinds of white), so I have 2 tubs of red wine cook in sauce for other meals, ready to go in the freezer.OH helped me to wash down the bathroom walls, ceiling, paintwork etc today (surprisingly). I was expecting this boring task to take me a few sessions, but all done now. Still haven't tackled the Dreadful Dusty Dresser of Doom in the living room though. It is piled with old blue and white china, most of which is not dusty at all, as we use it all the time, and therefore it is washed regularly. It is really only the shelves that are dusty, but it all has to come off to do it properly. Maybe tomorrow.OH went to the corner shop for beer. He also came back, strangely, with two packets of lentils... he is the last person on earth one could imagine panic buying lentilsI already had lentils, so now I have lots.... lentil soup will need to go on the meal plan for next week.
