Morning folks
Some good news to start the day. A colleague of mine was due to have an anyuerism (SP?) operated on. The op was cancelled due to the coronavirus but then they decided to push ahead with it. He's had it done and was awake and up on the ward again yesterday evening.
Between the relief of that and OH gave me a full body massage last night (muscles and relaxing - nothing like that you lot!!, I slept like a log. I really needed that.
Today's small things:B/L/D from stores
Find out what the next step is from work?
Def some sort of exercise - very short walk at lunchtime. OH got too distressed as a few cyclists were closer than 2m. Wish I'd gone on my own.
Set an alarm to get up and move about at least every 30 mins
Poss get out into the shed to get the bits out we need for decorating
OH to do the housework
Crochet
Have a good one all and stay safe

Afternoon all. CLF your OH sounds like a keeper. Has made me think I might have a long hot bath tonight, am SO tense.
Today - main tasks are making a cake, and getting in enough food that we do not need to go to the shop for a week. I've done the second thing and it was not as bad as I feared. Very civilised in our local metro-version supermarket. It was a world of excuse me and sorry and do you mind if I just-?
Very British!!
Am still paranoid but cannot face wiping down the shopping. Have just put it all at the back, not to be touched for 3 days. In theory anyway.
I did have a bit of a payday moment and buy the more expensive versions of things, but that was partly because the usual cheap versions were not in stock. I kind of thought What the heck, and shoved the premium version in the trolley. So I've spent more than I might usually on that amount of stuff, annoying but not much option; I also grabbed easter eggs while I saw them because I do not want to make a special trip. DD was thrilled when she spotted them at the back of the cupboard but no touching is allowed until Easter!
That's it. Trying hard to cling to sanity after much anxiety last night and not much sleep. Not reading any virus news at all. Lovely stories only - like the one about wild goats roaming Llandudno, anybody see that? Cheered me right up.
Have good days all. Must persuade my family that we are working through everything we have in BEFORE going back to the shops! I want to see NOBODY for the next 2 weeks.

Evening allTrying hard to achieve something every day. Today I have:Walked dog early on (before 7am) before there was anyone much aboutWashed hair and left to dry naturally (used my everlasting shampoo bar and a minimum amount of conditioner)Made scones, plus a crumble for pudding, to use up some raspberries from the freezer and an apple in the fruit bowl (like you 1LL, the only one). Also had crumble mix left over from last time in the freezer, so pretty easy! I always make double quantity of crumble mix and freeze half. You can use it straight from the freezer to top fruit, then bake.Cleaned loo, basin etc in bathroomCleaned insides of kitchen, lounge and dining room windows, and wiped down sills and framesDD2 brought round my share of a veg box from a local farm that we bought between us. Left it at the front door and took away the school stuff I had printed out for GD, and left out fo her to collect. Nice to have some fresh veg - lots of greens, seasonal stuff as it is what the farm have ready. Cooked the beetroot from the box, will chop up and freeze half tomorrow (there were 4, suspect DD didn't want beetroot
)
Watched one of the new Jamie Oliver programmes on catch up - inspired me to make a veggie chilli for dinner rather than fish fingers and oven chipsI like Jamie Oliver - I know lots of people find him annoying, but he genuinely tries to make a difference and help others. And his recipes are good!
Watered seedlings in greenhouseGot yellow split peas out and put in to soak for pease pudding tomorrow - haven't made it for years, but it will go nicely with the ham hock I am cooking tomorrow.Hope everyone is ok, hope you are better Ally!4 -
Morning frugal pals. Today list looks like:
pot on some seedlings
write a letter and post it
knit
a bit of sewing, did some yesterday and really enjoyed it - whilst mending things at the same time
check banking update sheet
make something with smalls this afternoon. Used one of their craft kits yesterday. They really enjoyed it.FaceTime folks
finish pedicure I started last night
continue using product that I cut open and had loads left in it
have a good day all. Purps.4 -
Morning everyone
DawnW - you made me realise that one DFW thing I do without thinking is to only use small amounts of shower gel, shampoo etc. It literally took me over a year once to get through a fancy big Body Shop gel I treated myself to. That's £1 a month, pretty moneysaving (though would be even more if I'd bought a cheap brand).
We have a family birthday today though we're not doing much :-( Am so stressed can hardly get into the mood.
BUT I will
-work 7 hours lol
-go for walk with dog (v glad we have lovely dog who tolerates our cuddles)
-make cake (too knackered to do it yesterday)
-do a lot of de-stress breathing stuff as am suffering with it today
-use up veggies in a risotto tonight
-try to get DD to do any of her schoolwork. Can't blame her she's not feeling motivated either.
That's it. Avoiding news again after seeing an item that really upset me yesterday.

Morning allManaged a longer walk than usual today, though dog needed persuading (he always wants to go, but is lazy about walking very far, and if it is raining or the wind is blowing leaves about, forget it). I have a load of washing on, not sure if it will dry outside today as it is very cold - but if it doesn't actually rain, I will try! Trying to get up off my ample backside every 30 mins or so and do something. I have just been out in the garden scavenging for salad leaves. There isn't much, but thank goodness for perpetual spinach, chard, chives and the land cress that seeds itself all over the place. The spinach and chard aren't ideal for eating uncooked, but we are only talking small quantities, and needs must! 'Salad' leaves now washed and dried.I have also peeled and diced the beetroot that came in the veg box yesterday, cooked yesterday evening. Planning on having some of these salad bits for lunch, with the remains of the pate in the fridge, and a piece of toast. Dinner tonight will be a roasted gammon hock with pease pudding, which I haven't made for years, but saw on a cookery programme recently and wanted. Will have lots of veg with it, so there will be plenty of gammon left for other meals.I am planning to take the net curtain down from the bedroom window, wash it and clean the window. I am far from being a net curtain fan, but this is a large window overlooking the street, so needs must. At least the house will be clean after all this! Really hoping the weather will soon warm up so that the doors and windows can be open and things in the garden grow! I did notice that there is a bit more rhubarb ready, so will pick that later.5
