None of these problems would have occurred with a conventional meter, they have all been caused by a Stupid smart meter !  Stupid once because it's gone dumb.  Stupid twice because it changes the displayed reading from cubic metres to kWh before you've had a chance to jot down the reading accurately; Sarah seems to have supplied a gas kWh reading on 22 Feb which has then inflated the estimated reading on 17 March.
At the very least, suppliers should warn about this when asking for manual meter readings to be supplied from dumb smart meters.
BTW, Avro themselves seem mightily confused about kiloWatt hours.  They try to explain the electricity EAC (without referring to Estimated Annual Consumption) by stating that "A typical yearly EAC for an UK average home is 3,100 kilowatts per hour (kWh)" !
  • Electric meter...  Which reading??

Whichever is from Button 9 - don't forget to ignore the numbers after the decimal point
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill
  • That's the first picture
OK thank you so so so much

14335 - that compares very well with the extract of your bill

Quite high consumption for a property with gas though.  What's your annual electricity consumption?
  • During winter months between £40 and £60 and summer is about £25 to £40
    Roughly
I'm not sure in kW as my bills are downstairs

no... no... No... NO... NO !
Not 'between'.  Not 'about'.  Not ££ per month.  Not 'Roughly'.  Not 'not sure'.  Not 'kW'.
When comparing, you MUST think annual cost, based on annual kiloWatt hours obtained from Actual meter readings (not estimates or projections), otherwise it will all end in tears.  The only exception, as previously discussed, is that you must submit gas readings in cubic metres because Avro will automatically do the conversion to kWh.
Yes, it sounds boring, but misunderstanding or getting these details wrong is like telling the gendarme that you couldn't possibly have been speeding past the école in the village because the sign said 50 and your speedo said you were only doing 49mph.
