Only posted my completed pip form n Monday had a text back on Wednesday saying they had received it. Is this normal? Will be interesting to see how they consider the application s without face to face interviews
That's good - they must have caught up with the incoming mail processing. They have said they will try and complete assessments based on the paperwork and i assume they may ring you to discuss the application. I fear that in some cases they may not be able to do this and will have to delay the assessment,
Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.

Nothing wrong with that, especially during these times. You will either have a paper based assessment, telephone assessment or they will wait until face to face assessments are back up and running. Nothing more you can do but wait.

Thanks for that is a paper based assessment different to the actual form ?
I sent them nineteen pieces of correspondence including hospital discharge notes and consultants letters so hopefully that might help. It must be difficult for them to assess over the telephone.

Its fast but not unusual, they have 3 options atm, they can assess using what you have said and evidence you have provided, they can phone you to assess you or they could wait until they can do a f2f.But at least you know its got there.

Sounds good to me I was just shocked by the text less that 48 hours after posting especially in the current climate.

A paper based assessment is when the report is written without having a face to face assessment. It's nothing like the form you filled in. 19 pieces of evidence is rather a lot, less is often more for evidence anyway.

We're a smidge further on than you in my husband's PIP process - he too got a text acknowledging receipt after 2 or 3 days and he got one this Monday (after about another 3 weeks, I'd need to check the actual dates) saying they had got the report back from the assessment and would write with their decision within 6 weeks.  So we assume that they've done a fully paper assessment - as they haven't rung him.  Presumably they felt they'd got enough information between the form and the few docs we sent.

I'm not sure if that might help us or not - I think we're decently happy at avoiding a face to face assessment, especially in the current climate, if they hadn't already suspended them, he wouldn't have been able to attend as he's Shielding for at least 12 weeks, thereby delaying things further.  So we hope this has at least speeded things up - hopefully not at the expense of care in the assessment and a good outcome.

We're hoping that the straightforward ones might be dealt with swiftly in order to clear the decks for all the new claims coming in.

Sounds like the paper based assessment your husband had was before the face to face assessments were suspended. Under normal circumstances, that's rare but it can happen. Now with the suspended face to face assessments, it doesn't mean everyone will have a paper based assessment.

I would be happy to attend a face to face assessment. I'm fairly hopeful that my discharge letters of my multiple hospital stays and my letters from my consultants will be enough. As the danger to me having seizures and falls  make me unsafe to complete most tasks most of the time.
