Can I run this one by you then as I'm not totally sure I understand your detailed explanation
    May 28 to Jun 15
    Jun 29 to Jul 7
    Aug 2 to Aug 10
    Oct 28 to Nov 9
    Nov 18 to Nov 30
    Dec 5 to Dec 12
    Jan 23 to Feb 1
    Feb 17 to Feb 22

Those were the dates are those reportable

  • From the information supplied it would appear you should have a good chance of receiving PIP. A good form of evidence especially when a condition is not constant, I.e. good and bad times is to keep a diary for a week or two, it need not be detailed but can help fill in the form so you can state things like ‘in a 2 week period I had so many fits’ etc rather than saying something like, ‘some times’ or ‘lots’. You can choose to submit the diary  as evidence or not. Supply, if possible, medical evidence that describes how you condition affects your ability to look after yourself, your safety and how you can or cannot travel.

May 28 to Jun 15 = 17 days in hospital (assuming the dates you have given are the date of admission and discharge)
Jun 29 to Jul 7 = 15 days out of hospital which is less than 28 days so the stays are linked. This stay is 7 days in hospital. Your total time in hospital is now 24 days.
Aug 2 to Aug 10 = 26 days out of hospital which is less than 28 days so the stays are linked. This stay is 7 days. Your total time in hospital is now 31 days. You are not entitled to receive PIP for the last 3 days. As soon as you are discharged you inform PIP and they resume payment.
Oct 28 to Nov 9 = You have been out of hospital for more than 28 days so the counter has been reset to nil. This stay is 11 days.
Nov 18 to Nov 30 = 10 days out of hospital which is less than 28 days so the stays are linked. This stay is 11 days.
Dec 5 to Dec 12 = 6 days out of hospital, the stays are linked. This stay is 6 days so your total is now 17 days.
Jan 23 to Feb 1 = You have been out of hospital for more than 28 days so the counter has been reset to nil. This stay is 8 days.
Feb 17 to Feb 22 = 17 days out of hospital, the stays are linked. This stay is 4 days so your total is now 12 days.

Completed the pip form yesterday but had to send originals. I have no way have of getting to or even finding a place to photocopy my hospital discharge notes and consultants letters. I put a note on the form asking if they could return them not sure if they will.
Tough form to fill in for my condition.

Pretty sure they won’t. Once they are scanned onto the system I think they will be destroyed.

Not much you can do now but for future reference - for the form at least - you can take a photo of each page so you have some record of what you wrote. Hopefully once the virus crisis is over you can request a copy of your past letters from the NHS.

Yeah you are so right I  probably about have taken pictures of the form hopefully I can remember. I'm sure I can and the documentation is a big help taking about falls etc.
I have been reading on the internet about epilepsy and pip and the dwp are not big fans of awarding the benefit to people who have it. I think one article I read said the percentage was only 31.

You should be able to get copies from your doctors as they will be on their systems, if you don't get the originals back.
As to keeping what you entered on the PIP form.

I did ours on there and then copied that to the form. You then have a copy (create account) and it will also generate a appeals letter for you from the details you entered.

Thanks for that we will see what happens I'm sure there will be a huge backlog. I know they have suspended face to face interview assessments right now as well.
