Sounds like the profile folder had become corrupted. Uninstall it again and delete the profile folder, then reinstall and recreate your profile.

Uninstall Chrome ... physically delete the profile folder via Windows Explorer ... reinstall Chrome ... create your new profile (probably by logging in to your Gmail account).

I have deleted Chrome again. Went into C drive to try and alter the following
    c:\users\<username>\Appdata\local\google\chrome\user data\default

got as far as username but cannot find 'app data'

    Open Windows Explorer
    Select the View menu
Tick the box for Hidden Items

Either turn on the view of hidden items or just copy and paste the path into address bar in File Explorer.

Mine has started doing this from time to time for some reason.
I find 'killing' it in task manager works.
press ctrl:alt:delete at the same time, open task manager and look for google chrome, then click on end task.
you may see more than one running, end them all
Then click on your chrome launcher and all should be well
The force is strong in this one!

Bumping as I'm having exactly the same problem - after smooth running for years, tabs seem to be stuck on "processing request". Has this got something to do with Microsoft Edge trying to usurp Google Chrome?

I have a number of tabs open that I don't want to lose and umpteen passwords saved to Google Chrome too. How do I fix this without incurring a loss of data?
