We've booked four days in New York on 14 August through Virgin. We've paid £750 deposit and the balance of around £4,750 is due in May I believe. Our two friends that we're going with have paid theirs in full !
In the current Covid 19 crisis if we pay the balance but cannot go due to one of us catching it...will we lose our money ? If Virgin still aren't flying and we've paid the balance will we get refunded ? Or, should we not pay the balance and delay going until all this has blown over, will we get our deposit back or will it go towards the future trip ? New York looks to be in a bad way at the mo. Thanks.

under - I've booked a trip, but I'm paying for it in instalments. I don't want to go – can I stop paying?

Holidays from June 2020
In line with the advice from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, all trips booked from June onwards are unaffected. If this changes, we will of course be in touch with you.
If you choose to not pay the balance then you lose whatever the terms and conditions state for cancelling at this point in time
4 Credit Card and 1 Loan PPI claims settled for £26k, 1 rejected (Opus).
Sorry, that typo annoys me.
People are not taking this seriously, we have no idea wat is going to happen.
The US have not had a peak in death/sickness etc. Until they reached that peak, it's best to cancel.
I believe come May the travel ban will still be in place.
Under the circumstances all you can do is wait until the balance is due in May and see what the situation is like then.
