the most I have ever paid for a HDMI cable is £16, I don't see the point in paying loads of money for one.
Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £19,575.020 -

Any HDMI cable will do - and the 77p one will certainly do the job.
Some will say that the more expensive versions will improve quality - but even the most hardened cinephile would be hard pressed to tell the difference.
If you're after a longer cable then I recommend looking at ebay - I've managed to pick up some 2m long HDMI cables off there for well below a fiver.0 -
eBuyer have load of different makes for about £4.00, here's one:

But when I got to be twenty one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

If you are buying a new TV, get a HDMI lead thrown in with the deal. Any new cable will do.0

I disagree that ANY cable will do as ive tested them myself and can say theyre NOT all the same

I just don't get this cable milarchy. BBC capture sound digitally at the RAH and sends it as a Dolby Digital data stream, along with the HD video, all the way from the hall, via satellite to my satellite receiver. The same, unprocessed DD data stream passes to my AV receiver over HDMI cable which decodes the DD data stream into 5.1 audio. The AVR passes the unprocessed HD video signal to my HD TV via another HDMI cable.
This signal has been passed over PCM links and satellite spread spectrum links over thousands of miles. You think that 1.5 m of HDMI cable is going to make any difference to the quality?

As an engineer in computer science I still find it hard to understand how a digital HDMI cable can make such a big difference at such short distances.
If it were much longer cables, say 50 feet, then sure I get it, but at 1.5 m the cable would have to be extremely bad to distort the signal enough.0 -
